STUDENT INFORMATION
1. FMS HAS HEART – Students think before acting.
2. SCHOOL RULES – Remove hats in while in the classroom.
3. FMS STARTS OUR STATE TESTING TODAY - Tuesday through Friday we will have block
schedules. Today all students will start with first period followed by periods 3 and 5. On
Thursday and Friday all students will start the day with period 2 followed by periods 4 and 6.
Please take your time and do your very best on the computerized test and show how much you
have learned this year!
4. EARTH DAY IN THE PARK takes place this evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Shiells Park.
Everyone is invited to attend!
5. COME TO THE ANTI-BULLYING BOOTH at lunch and share what bullying means to you.
Together we can stop bullying!
6. EXPLORING SUCCESS is a new lunch activity that will take place this Thursday and Friday,
4/23 and 4/24. Come to room G-3 during both lunches and hear from some motivational
speakers.
7. 8th GRADE STUDENTS – You may run for ASB in the 9th grade! The offices that are open are
President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and two Senator positions. Applications are due
to Mrs. Montero by Wednesday, April 22. Make a difference at Fillmore High School and be a
leader of the class of 2019!
8. 8th GRADE STUDENTS – Are you interested in being in AVID as a freshman? Students must
turn in their completed applications to Mrs. Montero by Wednesday, April 22.
9. ATTENTION ALL 7th & 7th GRADERS – Do you like to take pictures? Do you like to work
on the computer with photos and graphic design? If so, you can sign up to be on next year’s
yearbook staff. See Miss Beal in room K-3 for an application. All applications are due to Miss
Beal by Friday, 4/24.
10. DO YOU LIKE BEING IN THE SPOTLIGHT? Do you enjoy making other people laugh or
cry with your epic performances? Want to work hard and have fun putting together a show?
Sign up for Drama in the 2015-2016 school year. Pick up an application in room K-4 before or
after school and return your completed application to Mrs. Bortins by Thursday, 4/30. You must
be eligible to have an elective class in order to sign up.
11. ARE YOU A LEADER? Are you creative? Are you responsible? Do you like being involved
in school events? Do you enjoy working hard and having fun? If so, please consider applying
to be in the ASB school leadership class for the 2015-16 school year. You must have at least a
2.0 GPA, have no record of poor behavior and will need recommendations from at least two
teachers/coaches. If interested, please get an application from Ms. Dyer in room I-4.
Applications are due by Friday, April 24th.
12. 8th GRADERS – Try-out clinics for the 2015-16 Fillmore High School Cheerleading Squad will
take place the week of April 27th with try-outs taking place on Friday, May 1st. Try-out
applications are available in the middle school office and must be returned to Lynn Cole at the
high school on or before Thursday, April 23rd.
