Numbers will not be released without a signed entry and open check. 2. All riders must wear protective headgear while mounted. 3. Management reserves the right to cancel or combine any event with less than 3 entries 4. All scratches must be made through the show secretary. Class fees will not be refunded once a class has started. 5. A $25.00 fee will be charged for returned checks. 6. Please park on designated areas only. 7. Leashed dogs are welcome! 8. The officials listed in the prize list have been invited to officiate, but could vary if situations arise. 9. All horses must have negative coggins. 10. This is a no smoking facility. Please refrain from smoking while on the grounds. 11. The show will be held according to USEF rules. Directions From the North: Take Route 7 South into Great Barrington. Take a right on Rt 23 west, then another right on Rt 71. Take your first left onto Seekonk Cross Road. Horse show will be on your right. From the South: Take Route 7 North into Great Barrington. After Big-Y plaza take your first left onto Silver Street. At the end of Silver Street, take a left on Rt 23 west. Take a right on Rt 71, then first left onto Seekonk Cross Road. Horse show will be on your right. O. JUNIOR EQUITATION - Open to all junior riders who are not eligible for Pre Children’s or Children’s Equitation. Riders may show horses or ponies. To be shown over a course of fences at a height of 3’ with at least one change of direction. Combinations are optional. P. ADULT EQUITATION - Open to amateur riders 18 years of age and over. Fences not to exceed 2'9". S. LEADLINELEADLINE Open to beginner riders age 10 and under who have never shown off the lead line before. Riders may not enter any other division. To be eligible for year-end participation ribbon, riders must compete at two shows during the season. Show secretary must submit proof of participation. Rider need not be a member to be eligible for this award. T. WALK TROTTROT Open to riders 12 and under who have never shown at the canter. Riders may not enter any other division. To be eligible for a year-end participation ribbon, riders must accumulate a minimum of 28 points throughout the season. Riders must be members of the WNEPHA. A. The WNEWNE-PHA SHORT STIRRUP MEDAL CLASSCLASS- Open to junior members of the WNE-PHA who are eligible for Short Stirrup Equitation. Riders in this class may compete in any equitation class in which the fence height does not exceed 2’. Rider must be a member before the class begins. A course of at least eight fences not to exceed 18". Simple changes will not be penalized. A minimum of 4 riders is needed to fill the class. If appropriate, the judge is encouraged to offer a test to the top riders. B. The WNEWNE-PHA LONG STIRRUP MEDAL CLASSCLASS- Open to members of the WNE-PHA who are eligible for Long Stirrup, and who are 13 years of age and over. A course of at least eight fences not to exceed 18" with at least one change of direction and no combinations or oxers should be included. Simple changes will not be penalized. A minimum of 4 riders is needed to fill the class. If appropriate, the judge is encouraged to offer a test to the top riders. C. The WNEWNE-PHA PRE CHILD/ADULT MEDAL CLASSCLASS- Open to riders members of the WNEPHA who are eligible for Pre Children’s Equitation. Riders may show horses or ponies. To be shown over a course of at least 8 fences at a height of 2’0. No combinations. Simple changes will not be penalized. A minimum of 4 riders is needed to fill the class. If appropriate, the judge is encouraged to offer a test to the top riders. D. The WNEWNE -PHA CHILDREN’S MEDAL CLASSCLASS- Open to junior members of the WNEPHA who are eligible for Children’s Equitation. Riders may show horses or ponies. The WNEWNE-PHA MODIFIED JUNIOR MEDAL CLASSCLASS Open to junior members of the WNE-PHA who are eligible for Modified Junior Equitation. Riders may show horses or ponies. A course of at least eight fences not to exceed 2'9" with at least one change of direction. A minimum of 4 riders is needed to fill the class. If appropriate, the judge is encouraged to offer a test to the top riders. F. The WNEWNE-PHA JUNIOR MEDAL CLASSCLASS- Open to all junior members of the WNEPHA who are not eligible for Pre Children’s, or Children’s Equitation. Riders may show horses or ponies. To be shown over a course of at least 8 fences at a height of 3’ with at least one change of direction. Combinations are optional. A minimum of 4 riders is needed to fill the class. If appropriate, the judge is encouraged to offer a test to the top riders. G. The WNEWNE -PHA ADULT MEDAL CLASSCLASS Open to Amateur Adult members of the WNE-PHA. MHC and NEHC Specifications for medal classes will be available at the secretary’s desk the day of the show, along with applications for both organizations. Class Descriptions A. BABY GREEN - Open to any horse in their first or second year of showing who has never shown higher than 2'6" in said 1st or 2nd year. Horses that enter this division at a given show may not enter any other class at that show in which fence heights exceed 2'6". No rider restrictions. Trotting in corners will not be penalized. B. LOW HUNTER – No restrictions. Fences not to exceed 2'6". C. NOVICE HUNTER DIVISION - Open to any rider who is eligible for novice adult or novice junior equitation as of December 1 of the current show year. Riders who enter this division at a given show may not enter any other class at that show in which fence height exceeds 2'6". The course will not include any combinations. Fences not to exceed 2'0". D. JUNIOR/AMATEUR HUNTER - Open to all except professional riders. No horse restrictions. Horse/rider combinations that enter this division at a given show may not enter any other class at the show in which fence height exceeds 2'6". No combinations. E. CHILDREN'S HUNTER PONY - Open to all ponies ridden by juniors. Small ponies, 12.2 hands and under to jump 2'. Medium ponies, 12.2 but not exceeding 13.2 to jump 2'3". Large ponies, over 13.2 but not to exceed 14.2 to jump 2'6". Judged on manners, performance, suitability and soundness. NOTE: Children's Hunter may be run together as long as riders designate horse or pony. F. CHILDREN'S HUNTER HORSE - Open to horses to be shown by junior riders. Riders over 15 years of age must still be eligible for Limit equitation over fences (1.e... they have not won 6 equitation blues over fences) as of December 1st of the current show year. Fences not to exceed 3' for horses. Note: if 6 or more of each (horses and ponies) are entered in this class, it should be split. Judged on manners, performance, suitability and soundness. G. OPEN WORKING / JUNIOR HUNTER - Fences to be 3’. No restrictions on age or status of rider except in Junior Hunter. Judged on manners, suitability and soundness. H. ADULT HUNTER DIVISION - Open to horses ridden by riders 18 years of age and over. Fences will be set at 2’6. Judged on manners, performance, suitability and soundness. I. PLEASURE DIVISION – No restrictions. Horses will be shown at a walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring. Martingales not permitted. J. To be shown over a minimum of 8 fences at 3’ including a combination and at least two changes of direction after the first fence. Two or more tests of the top four competitors are required. The same horse must be used in all phases. Only one rider per horse. Three riders must complete the course in order for points to count. The rider must be a member in order for points to count toward qualifying for the Finals. No cross entry of rider into the M&S Children’s Pony Medal at the same show. May be combined with Adult and/or Pony Medal. Fences 3’ M&S 2’6” Children’s Medal - Open to Junior Riders on horses or ponies that are not competing at the same show in any class with fences at 3’ or higher. To be shown over a minimum of 8 fences at 2’6” including a combination and at least two changes of direction after the first fence. Two or more tests of the top four competitors are required. The same horse must be used in all phases. Only one rider per horse. Three riders must complete the course in order for points to count. The rider must be a member in order for points to count toward qualifying for the Finals. No cross entry of rider into the M&S Children’s Pony Medal at the same show. May ONLY be combined with M&S 2’6” Adult Medal. Fences 2’6” M&S 2’6” Adult Medal - Open to Adult Riders that are not competing at the same show in any class with fences 3’ or higher. To be shown over minimum of 8 fences at 2’6”’ including a combination and at least two changes of direction after the first fence. Two or more tests of the top four competitors are required. The same horse must be used in all phases. Only one rider per horse. Three riders must complete the course in order for points to count. The rider must be a member in order for points to count toward qualifying for the Finals. May ONLY be combined with M&S 2’6” Children’s Medal. Fences 2’6” M&S Children’s Medal – Pony - Open to Junior Riders on ponies that are not competing at the same show in any class with fences at 3’ or higher. To be shown over a minimum of 8 fences at the required height with at least two changes of direction after the first fence. A combination is optional, and must be adjusted according to fence heights. Two or more tests of the top four competitors are required. The same pony must be used in all phases. Only one rider per pony. (Riders may not ride in more than one height section of the class.) Three riders must complete the course in order for points to count. The rider must be a member in order for points to count toward qualifying for the Finals. No cross entry of rider into the M&S Children’s Horse Medal or Children’s 2’6” Medal at the same show. May be combined with Child Horse and/or Adult Medal. Fences 2’6” (Large) Fences 2’0” (Sm/Med).
