Here you can let your taste buds go on a roller coaster with all freshly made foods and delicacies that your heart could desire. Here we will enjoy breakfast and maybe get some snacks to enjoy in villa. We will then make our way to Table Mountain, where we will be elevated above the city to 1085meters above sea level by a Rotair Cable Car for a spectacular view. This is where Rory will explain the layout of the city so you can get your bearings and orientate yourself of all the exciting things we are going get up to in the next days of your holiday. Afternoon at leisure before heading to the V&A Waterfront for some shopping and dinner at Harbour House restaurant ending with some drinks at one of the local night spots in De Waterkant [Included – Accommodation, transfers, Table Mountain Cable Way] [Excluded – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner] Nostalgic day along the bay Day 3: Sunday 07 February 2016 We make our way to one of the many little restaurants on Camps Bay Beachfront to have some breakfast Before heading to Cape Town station and boarding the Atlantic Rail Heritage steam train trip to Simons Town. Enjoy a lunch at one of the restaurants overlooking the water before heading back to Cape Town station. Return to villa and enjoy some sunset drinks at one of the bustling bars along Camps Bay beachfront Dinner will be prepared for us tonight in our villa by a private chef. [Included – Accommodation, Train Tickets, Dinner and Specialty Cocktails] [Excluded – Breakfast & Lunch] Walk to freedom Day 4: Monday 08 February 2016 After morning breakfast we will be collected by James Fernie, a passionate and driven man that works with NGO’s helping to build impoverished communities in the Cape. We will visit some of the projects that are dear to his heart and will surely warm your heart too. His NGO is called ‘Uthando’ which means love, and that is clearly emulated in the work he does. We return to the Villa before heading to Hout Bay for lunch on the dockside. The afternoon will be taken up by visiting a local lady by the name of Gamidah, she lives in an area of Cape Town known as the ‘Bo-Kaap’, a slave descendant community that settled there after slavery was abolished in 1806. Muslim by faith and nurturing by nature, she will take us around her area by foot before ending the experience with dinner cooked in her house using age old recipes pasted down through generations. This culinary treat shows how the mother is the backbone of these communities. Because this is a Muslim household, no alcohol will be enjoyed with dinner, but we will return home afterwards to a drink on our private deck overlooking Camps Bay & The Twelve Apostles, with time to reflect on the days happenings [Included – Accommodation, Transport, Uthando Township Experience, Malay Cooking Class & Dinner] [Excluded – Breakfast & Lunch] Day of relaxation and a chance to get a tan Day 5: Tuesday 09 February 2016 Today we enjoy a leisurely breakfast and slowly make our way to one of the many beautiful public beaches throughout Cape Town. Clifton is most definitely the beach to be at, with option to rent umbrellas and recliner beach chairs, we pack a cooler box of drinks & snacks (not forgetting sunblock and a hat) and enjoy the relaxation of summer in Cape Town. Llandudno near Hout Bay has one of the only legal nudist beaches in South Africa. Dinner this evening will be at the Test Kitchen at the Old Biscuit Mill [Included – Accommodation, Transport, Dinner Discovery Menu with wine pairing at Test Kitchen] [Excluded – Breakfast & Lunch] The Cape of Good Hope Day 6: Wednesday 10 February 2016 This morning we drive all along the coast taking in the beautiful sights of the Cape Peninsula. This natural peninsula carved away by the sea for millennia boasts one of the richest floral kingdoms in the world. More diverse than the entire British Isles with some species still unidentified. Our journey takes us to Hout Bay and the famous Chapmans Peak Drive as we work our way along the Atlantic Seaboard. We enter the reserve where we may have the opportunity to spot the baboon in its natural habitat, as well as some antelope species living on the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. After lunch at Two Oceans restaurant overlooking the False Bay, we make our way to Boulders Beach, a natural penguin sanctuary, where we have the chance to see the African Penguin also in its natural habitat. We return to Camps Bay via the city highways. As our last night in Camps Bay, we celebrate with another scrumptious dinner prepared at the Villa by a private chef, barbeque South African Style. Surrounded by mountains this is one of the longest wine routes in the world, with multiple award winning wines grown on the millions of vines one can see all around us. Visit a few wine estates tasting their wines, maybe even buy a few for the villa in Franschhoek. Check into our luxury home. Dinner at the Tasting Room in Franschhoek. We visit some more wine farms, some boasting cheese or wine or chocolate pairings with their wines. Lunch at a venue of choice while on our travels. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy our well appointed villa or just amble through the streets of this quaint village. Dinner at the Grill Room on the main road of Franschhoek [Included – Accommodation, Transport, Wine Tasting] [Excluded – Lunch & Dinner] Next leg of our adventure Day 9: Saturday 13 February 2016 We check out of our villa and make our way to Cape Town International Airport to board our flight to Port Elizabeth. (Flight time to be advised closer to the time). Upon landing at Port Elizabeth we will be transferred to Kariega Game Reserve situated in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. This malaria free area allows us the opportunity to view the African Big 5 in their natural habitat, guided by our trackers and very knowledgeable ranger on our own private 4x4 game drive vehicle. For the next few days let the African hospitality and ambience rejuvenate your soul.
