Day 4: Monday 08 February 2016
After morning breakfast we will be collected by James Fernie, a passionate and driven man that works with
NGO’s helping to build impoverished communities in the Cape. We will visit some of the projects that are
dear to his heart and will surely warm your heart too. His NGO is called ‘Uthando’ which means love, and
that is clearly emulated in the work he does. We return to the Villa before heading to Hout Bay for lunch on
the dockside. The afternoon will be taken up by visiting a local lady by the name of Gamidah, she lives in an
area of Cape Town known as the ‘Bo-Kaap’, a slave descendant community that settled there after slavery
was abolished in 1806. Muslim by faith and nurturing by nature, she will take us around her area by foot
before ending the experience with dinner cooked in her house using age old recipes pasted down through
generations. This culinary treat shows how the mother is the backbone of these communities. Because this
is a Muslim household, no alcohol will be enjoyed with dinner, but we will return home afterwards to a drink
on our private deck overlooking Camps Bay & The Twelve Apostles, with time to reflect on the days
happenings

the relaxation of summer in Cape Town. Llandudno near Hout Bay has one of the only legal nudist
beaches in South Africa.

The Cape of Good Hope
Day 6: Wednesday 10 February 2016
This morning we drive all along the coast taking in the beautiful sights of the Cape Peninsula. This

world. More diverse than the entire British Isles with some species still unidentified. Our journey takes us to

antelope species living on the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. After lunch at Two Oceans restaurant
overlooking the False Bay, we make our way to Boulders Beach, a natural penguin sanctuary, where we
have the chance to see the African Penguin also in its natural habitat. We return to Camps Bay via the city
highways.
