12.30 – 13.00
Light lunch
Root canal transportation and file separation are the two main
procedural mishaps of instrumentation. Failure to tackle these
mishaps may result in major treatment challenges and affect
the final outcome of the treatment. Although the evolution of
rotary NiTi instrumentation moves towards better transportation dynamics, with the advent of rotary instrumentation the
issue of file separation became extremely prominent. New
manufacturing methods, instrument designs, instrumentation
movements and instrumentation protocols were introduced
in an attempt to overcome these problems, especially for the
highly curved canal system. Although current rotary instrumentation technology minimized the undesirable results of transportation, the incidence of unexpected rotary file separation
still remains an unsolved problem.
13.00 – 14.30 Overcoming the risk of transportation
& instrument separation in highly curved canals by implicating controlled
memory instrumentation protocols.
›› L earn to customize the HyFlex CM rotary instrumentation
protocols according to the anatomical challenges of
each case
14.30 – 15.00
Coffee break
15.00 – 17.00 Management of broken endodontic
instruments for the general practitioner. Video Demonstration of techniques
for broken file removal or bypass.
Recently, a novel NiTi wire with flexible properties called CM
wire (Controlled memory wire) was introduced in the market.
CM rotary files have been manufactured using a special thermomechanical processing that controls the material’s shape
memory, making the files extremely flexible and fatigue resistant. With 300 % more fatigue resistant CM rotary files with no
shape memory characteristics, the incidence of transportation
and rotary instrument separation is not only reduced but virtually eliminated even for the most challenging cases of canal
curvature.
17.00 End of course – Certificate of attendance
This lecture is designed to thoroughly investigate the impact of
the new controlled memory heat treated files in transportation
and rotary instrument separation dynamics and to provide clinical tips and recommendations for the management of challenging broken file and ledged cases.
