Holy Week & Easter Schedule
Living Last Supper - Maundy Thursday, April 2
On Maundy Thursday, April 2 at 7:00 pm, the men of the church will be portraying the Living Last Supper.
You will hear the story of the Last Supper through the eyes of the disciples and hear the word proclaimed
through music and the choir. We will also have a special time of Holy Communion. Come and join us for
a powerful worship experience!
Good Friday - April 3
The Clarksville Area Ministerial Association is sponsoring a community wide Good Friday Service at First
Presbyterian Church, 213 Main Street, at 7 pm, on April 3. If you would like to ride the bus to the service,
meet at the Hilldale UMC parking lot at 6:15 pm. Pastor B.J. will be leading part of the service and we
hope that you will join us for the powerful Tenebrae service of darkness!
Easter Sunrise Service - April 5
We will be having an outdoor Sunrise Service this year at 6:30 am at the Tanglewood House. In the back
of the house is a wedding venue with pews and we will have the service there. You can park in the lot
and walk out back. There will also be a golf cart to help us get to the back of the property. We will have
music, prayer, and a message led by our youth. All are invited to come and be with us. After the Sunrise
service, we will have an Easter breakfast sponsored by the youth in the CLC. Come and enjoy a great
morning of worship, food, and fellowship!
Easter Breakfast - April 5
The youth are sponsoring the breakfast on Easter Sunday after the sunrise service. Please sign up with
Pastor B.J. or Jodi if you would like to help us with food, decorating, or clean up. Hope to see you there.
Easter Sunday - April 5
On April 5, we will have four worship services to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus at 6:30 am, 8:30 am,
and two services at 11:00 am. We will have Holy Communion at 8:30 and 11:00, outstanding music, and
a message proclaiming Jesus is Risen! Invite your neighbors and friends to join us!
Confirmation 2015
Confirmation 2015 is off to a great start and we are excited to be learning about the seasons of the church year. Each
of these seasons tells the story of Jesus and his love for us. We are also planning a trip to Lake Junaluska, April 10-12,
for confirmation weekend. Sign up to attend this weekend where our youth will learn about the church and be united
with others from the Southeast. Cost is $120. We want you to join us in praying for our confirmands. They are Kaitlyn
Glasgow, Maggie Looney, Lauren Gilbert, Darren Hassell, Jacob McGeshick, Michael Hummer, Graysie Harper, Nevaeh Strawser, and Katie Diehr.

Scholarship Pancake Brunch
The Shelby Kae Russell Memorial Scholarship
Pancake Brunch is scheduled for Sunday , April
19th at 12:15 pm until 1:00 in the Hilldale CLC.
There is no fee for entry. All donations will be accepted and appreciated.
100% of the donations will be benefit the Shelby
Kae Russell permanent endowment that funds
the scholarship. The ultimate goal for this permanent endowment is $25,000 and the target to be
raised this year is $4,300.
The Shelby Kae Russell Memorial Scholarship is
dedicated to the memory of 14 year old Shelby
Kae Russell who exhibited tremendous courage
and spiritual maturity in the face of a cancer that
eventually took her from us on October 2, 2012.
During this brunch we will gather to remember
and celebrate how Shelby’s bubbly personality,
her selfless caring and her Christian discipline,
brought happiness to others even while she wrestled with her own trials as a patient.
We also will rededicate the purpose of this $1,000
scholarship which is to reward the beneficiary
with a cash gift to ease their path to college
where the recipient also can encourage, inspire
and serve others in the same way.
Scholarships
The church has two scholarships for seniors in High School.
There is the Shelby Kae Russell Scholarship and the Ben
Binkley Scholarship. For eligibility, requirements, applications, and deadlines, see the website or the church office after
April 1st. The church website is www.hilldaleumc.net.

A Message from the Folks at Sunday Worship.
If you look in the information section of your pew rack, you will find a card that says
A Message from the Folks at Sunday Worship. The congregational care team
is encouraging you to take a card each week and write a note to someone. That
someone might be sick and you are praying for them or they might have been absent from church and you wanted to let them know you are thinking about them.
Each Sunday, take a look and see who is missing. Write them a note and help us
care for our congregation. Drop the card offering plate during the service or you can
also drop the card in the box with a cross on it in the narthex after worship. The
office will address and mail the cards to the members and on Monday.
