There will be no Friday Show this morning and there will be a regular bell schedule. Grade-level Spring Elections will be held TODAY during C Block. Please wait for the PA announcements to proceed to the Auditorium. The HHS Green Team applauds the girls' lacrosse team for a tremendous "Slash the Trash" effort in the cafeteria yesterday. The girls came up just barely short in the quest to overtake the golf team but earned a solid hold on second place. Look for the crew team to make its mark at lunch today as the competition enters its final week. Driver’s Education Summer classroom courses are filling fast ~ Session I is now full, however, there are 12 spots available for Summer Driving Ed Session II starting August 3rd. Best Buddy speeches and forms are due to Mrs. Mathews in Room 174 by the end of the school day. Elections will be held Tuesday, May 19th, at 7:20am in Room 103. Global Citizenship Program: GCP is currently accepting applications to its certificate program. Applications are due by 2:40pm TODAY. Junior Prom: The prom will be held TONIGHT at South Shore Country Club from 7:30-10:30pm. Senior Prom: Will be held on Thursday, May 28th, from 7-11pm at the Aquarium in Boston. Prom tickets will be on sale during all three lunches in the Cafeteria TODAY. The cost is $25 per ticket. (Tickets will be sold to Hingham High School Seniors only.) Sports News JV Softball: Congratulations to the JV players in their win over Duxbury yesterday. The team closed out the victory with a bottom of the 7th run by Maggie Mulkerrin. Defense, led by the pitching of Issy Commesso and Rose Doran behind the plate keep the game close to allow the victory! Girls’ Tennis: Defeated Duxbury High School 5-0 today in league action yesterday. Hingham is now 11-3 in-league and 13-3 overall. Varsity Baseball: Trailing 1-0 in the sixth, Nic Barrett’s two run double provided the winning margin in a crucial 2-1 win over Duxbury. Brendan Smith was the winning pitcher with a complete game, five hit effort. He walked just one while striking out eight Duxbury batters. Leftfielder Joe Lindsay kept a potential game tying homerun ball in the park with a great catch for the second out in the seventh. We play Nauset at home on Saturday at 3:00pm. Seniors Important Reminder: Textbooks, library books, calculators, uniforms, or other obligations (or cash for lost items) must be returned/fulfilled on or before Wednesday, May 27, in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. Lockers should be cleared of all contents no later than May 26. Hingham High School will not be responsible for any articles left in lockers. Final Exam Schedules ~ 2015 Seniors A senior with at least a B- average for the year at the end of term 3 and at least a B average for term 4, with nonexempt absences not in excess of two (2) in the fourth term may be excused from taking the final exam. Parking in the Union Street close lot is open ONLY TO SENIORS who have purchased a parking sticker ~ cost is $60. There is no fee for a sticker to park in the far Union Street lot which is open to any HHS student. CARS THAT DO NOT HAVE PARKING APPLICATIONS PROCESSED, WILL BE IN VIOLATION AND WILL BE DISCIPLINED & TICKETED ACCORDINGLY. Attention ALL drivers ~ please be advised that road restrictions are in effect on Stoddard Road (right across from the HHS main entrance). It is a one way street between the hours of 2-3pm. There are no after school LATE BUSES at HHS. CAFETERIA: All students require a pin number to purchase lunch or any items sold in the Cafeteria. (The POS pin number is also available through the Aspen X2 portal. To find it, go to the Demographics tab. It is the last item listed in the left-hand column under the state identifier.) TARDY INFORMATION: Students please remember that if you are tardy, you are to report the Main Office area for a tardy slip. Students need to just bring in a signed note from a parent when reporting to the Main Office. A parent does not need to accompany them. DISMISSAL/ABSENT NOTE INFORMATION: All dismissals require a signed note from a parent. Students should see Mrs. Player in Mrs. Henriksen’s office ONLY for dismissals or for any exempt absent notes. Please see her before first period. Her office is located at the end of the Social Studies/English corridor (2nd floor) next to the Nurse’s Office. Regular absence notes from home can be given to the student’s A Block teacher. (Students being dismissed by the nurse are to be picked up by parents at the Pleasant Street entrance.)
