UCF Community Veterans History Project Research Assistant The UCF Community Veterans History Project is collecting, preserving, and making accessible to the public the experiences of Central Florida's veterans so that future generations will better understand the realities of conflict. It is a collaborative endeavor supported by multiple departments and offices at UCF. The histories, which students began recording during the fall 2010 semester, are archived and made digitally available through the UCF library. The UCF Community Veterans History Project will also contribute selected veterans' histories to the Veterans History Project at the Library of Congress. Position Description The UCF Community Veterans History program is seeking an intern to conduct and transcribe oral histories. In addition, the student selected as this project intern will provide administrative support, interview processing and create an interview clip reel for use in veteran outreach. The student will receive three credit hours for the internship. Intern will work under the direction and guidance of Tiffany Rivera, Assistant Director, Educational and Training Programs within the Department of History, University of Central Florida. Qualified individuals should submit a resume via email to Tiffany Rivera at [email protected] Duties and Project Deliverable include: Conducting oral history interviews Completing a minimum of three oral history transcripts Process Spring/Summer 2015 interviews Edit a video clip reel for veteran outreach purposes Research veteran outreach opportunities Qualifications: Participated in at least one oral history interview Taken at least one class that incorporated the CVHP Junior or Senior Internship Work Schedule: Flexible during office hours, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, 10-12 hours/week for a total of 150-180 hours per term.
