Wrap-Up
Hunter Derby
Three fabulous weeks of horse showing wrapped up yesterday at Waterloo Hunt in Grass Lake, MI.
Sunday kicked off with the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby. Greg Crolick and Nicole Ballard’s
Can Fly bested a field of 47 competitors to take home the blue ribbon and top check. Second place
honors went to Copper Fox LLC’s Moonwalk with Hillary Johnson in the irons. Rounding out the top
five were Greg and Claybrook Farms’ Encore CBF in 3rd place, 4th place was awarded to Meg Howard-Fuleky and Leonti owned by Gabrielle Thornton, and Cynthia Chaconas’ Sunkissed and Roger
Turner picked up the fifth place ribbon. The highest scoring non-professional was 11 year old Jada
Fuleky on Fox Meadow Farm’s Copperfield who placed sixth.
Leading Rider
Meijer sponsored the 2015 Leading Rider Awards to the top Professional, Junior, and Amateur riders
who accumulated the most points in their section and other qualifying classes over the three weeks.
A Leading Trainer award was also presented to the trainer whose top four horses per show accumulated the most points. Congratulations to our Leading Riders and Trainer!
