2015 Pink Sports Day

PINK SPORTS DAY
8th April, 2015
Dear Association Executives,
Hockey NSW is proud to announce their support of PINK SPORTS DAY in aid of Breast Cancer at the Under 18s
Women’s State Championships held in Newcastle on 8 – 10th May, 2015.
Hockey NSW’s target is to raise more than $5000 over the weekend for a disease that will effect approximately
15,600 Australian women this year alone. Collection baskets will be present on each field and donations, small or
large, from players and spectators are greatly appreciated.
Hot pink warm up and match balls will also be supplied over the weekend thanks to our partner and Exclusive
Equipment Supplier, Kookaburra.
We encourage every team attending the State Championship to get into the spirit and wear
pink in the form of zinc, headbands, laces etc. Note that players are advised to inform
Coaches and Managers of this before going ahead.
WHY NOT HOST YOUR OWN PINK DAY?
Hockey NSW encourages all Associations and Clubs to join hundreds of sporting groups nationwide as they turn
hot pink to show their support for, and pay tribute to, people in their local community who have been affected by
breast cancer. Members of the community are also encouraged to ‘pink up’ and come down to cheer on their
local teams.
All you have to do is register click here and the Breast Cancer Network will send you everything you need. For
Associations that register by 24th April, Hockey NSW will provide two dozen pink balls to use at their event.
Please email Penny Kelly ([email protected]) with your registration details.
