Dear Partners in Ministry,
Warm greetings in the name of Jesus. We are blessed that you are a vital part of our
ministry. Your prayer support is important to us.
Thank you for praying for our Taiwanese service in June. The service was well attended by
several older people who only speak Taiwanese. Such as Gary’s mother. She was very pleased
to understand the whole sermon. Also, Sally invited her mother for the first time because she
speaks Taiwanese. Our preacher, Rebecca, shared her testimony during the lunch time to
encourage us to never give up sharing the gospel with family and friends. The third Taiwanese
service will be in October.
Thank you for praying for our Junior high graduates. Most of them will attend vocational high
school. Sunny has decided to go to a vocational high school to study hair dressing. Pray for
these kids to use their summer vacation wisely. Also, graduating from nursing school were Al,
Kiki, and Tina. Pray for them, they will take the nursing license test on July twenty five. Megan
has passed the nursing license in May, and she is moving to Taipei to work in a hospital. Pray
for her adjustment to a new living situation and to join a nearby church which Lily introduced to
her.
July 6-9 is the FM youth camp. We are thankful that Joel is going as an adult leader from our
church. The two youth going from our church are Al and Henry. The camp theme is “Jesus
online”. Pray for them to develop a closer personal relationship with Jesus. Children’s camp is at
the end of July. But only one of our kids is at the age where he can go.
Pray for our children’s ministry. We needed to separate our Sunday school into two
groups. We have elementary kids in one room and pre- school kids in another room. However,
that does create a problem to have enough workers. Pray for Lois to have workers to help the
pre-school classroom. This is a very important ministry and we covet your prayer support.
July 3 begins our summer ministry in the elementary school. We will be working with the
kindergarten children. We will need creative ways to share stories about God. We hope Sunny
and other young people could come and help.
In August we are planning a small family camp for four families. These four couples have
children about the same age. We want to help them grow in Christ. One problem is where to go
that is suitable. We will also need workers for the children. Pray for all the concerns for the
family camp can be ironed out soon. The dates for the family camp are twenty second and
twenty third of August.
Cindy a young woman teaching English at the military prep school has been attending our
Wednesday evening prayer meeting and Bible study. Lily is helping her develop a daily quiet
time. Lily meets with her Thursday afternoons. Pray for Cindy to grow in her faith and
knowledge of Jesus.
Continue to pray for our friend Jeff. His time at the hospital is winding down. The last time
we met he asked how to make important decisions in life. Of course, I talked about prayer and
the important part it has made in my life in making decisions. Jeff is facing many important
decisions coming up over the next few months. Jeff told me he has three options. One is stay in
Taiwan and open a dental clinic. The second is go to Europe and study research. The third is go
to the US and study. Pray for Tim to help Jeff seek God for direction in his life.
You can pray for us this summer. With the heat index hitting 110 degrees every day for the
last month, it drains us of strength and energy. Tim often goes to the library in the afternoons to
work. Lily and Joycelyn use the air conditioning at the church in the afternoons. Also, you can
pray for rain that will help to cool down the temps.
You know we want to pray for you. We do think of you often and are encouraged by your
prayers and support to our ministry. Today we prayed for Christ Community in
Twinsburg. Please let us know how we can pray for you.
Joyfully serving in Taiwan,
Tim and Lily
