FACEBOOK
We are putting more information about future events and results etc on Holland Sports Facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/hollandsportsac?fref=ts . Make sure you have liked our page and look at it
on a regular basis.
COMMUNITY EVENT AT HOLLAND SPORTS SATURDAY 11TH JULY
This is a community event organised by Holland Sports & Social Association in which we will be involved
along with other groups. So far the following groups will take part:
The football club – something football related
The athletics club – us – we will probably do a Quadkids style event but for all the community. Also will
have high jump demonstration, weather permitting
Idol hands Music – some of their students playing songs
Louise Jordan – Bunny hop fitness
Mighty Oaks Youth club – kick rounders
Jackie Cooper – Training demonstration on the outdoor gym
Little Oaks Pre School – maybe sack races / egg and spoon races or something for the kids
Possibly tai kwan do demonstration
There will be drink and food.
We want to see as many of our members there as possible.
HOODIES
We have good stock of new hoodies, cost £20. I also have some second hand ones for £5 in following
sizes:
Ages 9–11
3 Off
Ages 12-13 1 Off
Ages 14-15 2 Off
HIGH JUMPING
A reminder that I take athletes high jumping most Friday nights indoors at Sutton. We leave the Club Car
Park at 5pm and get back at 8pm. If I cannot make it you can still go and ask for Roy Holland when you
arrive. Each session costs £2.65. Remember to bring your spikes.
CLUB RANKINGS AND STANDARDS
We are putting these on our website http://www.hollandsportsac.org.uk which includes National
Standards, Surrey Standards and Club Grades. This will give you all something to aspire to – these will be
handed out at Awards Night – on a date to be fixed in October.
MEMBERSHIP CARDS
These will shortly be produced – you will need to bring them down to the track to take part in the
sessions. If you lose them you will have to pay £5 for us to replace them. Can I also remind parents that
they must bring their child to the track and collect them from the track. This is an important security
issue.
On the point of membership may I remind everyone that the renewal of membership was due by 1 st
April. You are sent a number of reminders and yet many take at least a month to pay – we are still
waiting for some of you to pay! If you are struggling to pay the fee please advise me and we will work
something out.
We also have to register all competing athletes age 11 and upwards with England Athletics – renewal is
1st April and you then receive a licence number – you need this if you want to compete in county events.
OFFICIALS AND COACHES
We need more of you to qualify (no exams) as officials if only to help at events we compete in as we get
points the more officials we have which counts to team total. We will pay for the cost of the 1 day
course.
We also need more coaches – we are pleased that Francis Evans has just attended the Assistant Coach
Course and is now helping down the club.
Finally anyone want to write anything for the Newsletter?
