On Divine Mercy Sunday, April 12th, we celebrate the unending mercy of Jesus Christ as written in the revelations of St. Faustina Kowalska (1905-1938), an uneducated Polish nun. The message is nothing new, but is a reminder of what the Church has always taught through Sacred Scripture and Tradition: that God is merciful and forgiving, and that we, too, must show mercy and forgiveness. The Macon parishes of Holy Spirit, St. Joseph, and St. Peter Claver will have a joint celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday at St. Joseph on Poplar St in Macon, beginning at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 12th with the Sacrament of Reconciliation followed by the Divine Mercy Chaplet. “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” Mt. 5:7 If you have had any changes in your family please take time to update our parish records; if you’ve moved or changed your phone number, your email, or if you’ve gotten married or had a baby or any other change, please notify the office at 478.788.9820.
