The course purpose is to teach students about

Course Objectives
In this course, the student will:
 Develop an understanding of classical and state-of-the-art production
systems, control systems, management technology, cost systems, and
evaluation techniques.
 Develop an understanding of computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM)
and its impact on productivity, product cost, and quality.
 Obtain an overview of computer technologies including computers, database
and data collection, networks, machine control, etc, as they apply to factory
management and factory floor operations.
 Describe the integration of manufacturing activities into a complete system

Project Report & Presentation

Observe and report automation systems at a production plant

A proposal and a final report are required

A presentation of 15 min. at the end of the semester.

Working in groups of 4-6.

Check detailed class schedule for requirements and timing

ISE 324 TERM PROJECT PRESENTATION RULES

All students must be present at the beginning of the class presentation

Late comers will not be allowed to enter until the first break

Late comers or early quits will be regarded as non-attendance.

Each group will be given only 15 min for presentation and for questions and
answers

Presentation will cover topics studied in class, namely:
 Brief introduction to the factory,
 Production processes used,
 Products,
 Layout of the factory, material handling equipment, etc.,

Pictures, videos should be included, wherever possible

Term project must be submitted on CD

There will be one Term Project proposal and one Final Report and presentation
