WHAT IS A COLOR FUN RUN?
A color run is a fun run/walk for people of all ages, of
approximately 1 mile, that brings fun and a little exercise together, celebrating a color and a healthy life, all
while earning money for great causes! The only requirement is to wear white!
HOW DOES IT WORK? You start off clean at the starting line.
This is not an official, timed race.
You can walk, run or do cartwheels through the course. Along the way we have color stations where color
is gently thrown on you. At the finish, you will be fully plastered in color! We have a celebration of color
and fun at the end, as well!
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? The Color Fun Run caters to everyone – first time runners to
seasoned athletes. There is no age limit, if they can cover (running, jogging, walking, strolling) the mile
course, they can participate. However, for the safety of our runners, no pets allowed.
IS IT SAFE? YES! The powder is made from food coloring and cornstarch, it is all natural and 100%
nontoxic and completely biodegradable.
DO I GET A T-SHIRT?
YES! All participants will be required to sign a waiver and be provided with
a T shirt (while supplies last) and wrist band at registration. Register online and t-shirt and wristband
packages will be available for pick-up during lunch periods and at Hospice the week before the race, and at
registration the morning of the event.
WILL IT COME OUT OF MY CLOTHING? The color does mostly wash out after the event.
As with anything dirty, the sooner you wash it the better. We suggest wearing items that you wouldn’t
mind getting colorful.
SHOULD I BRING A TOWEL? Yes.
You will probably want to throw down a towel in your car
to help avoid the spread of color to seats!
WHAT DO I DO WITH MY VALUABLES DURING THE RACE?
Leave your
valuables (cell phone, electronics) at home or place them in ziploc bags to protect them when running
through color stations.
SHOULD I WEAR ANY OTHER ATTIRE OR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING? You
should wear goggles or sunglasses to avoid getting dust in your eyes. Some people also wear
something to protect their mouths from getting too much dust…bandana’s work well.
WHERE DO I PARK? There will be plenty of parking on site with directions to the registration
and pre – race and starting areas.
CAN I PARTICIPATE WITHOUT ACTUALLY RUNNING? Yes.
There are a lot of ways
to get involved. You can volunteer (and earn community service hours). You can be a sponsor. You
can simply donate.
IS MY DONATION OR SPONSORSHIP TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
Yes. Contact Lisa or MJ at United Hospice of Rockland (845) 634-4974
