HOUSE SPIRITS DISTILLERY RELEASES LIMITED EDITION HOMAGE TO PDX CARPET
Volstead Vodka PDX Carpet Edition Now Available in Oregon
PORTLAND, Ore (April 28, 2015) – Portland-based House Spirits Distillery, a leader of the
American craft distilling resurgence, announced today the release of a limited edition Volstead
Vodka inspired by the iconic Portland International Airport carpet. Bottles of this awardwinning spirit (Gold Medal, San Francisco World Spirits Competition) are now available at liquor
stores throughout Oregon, at the House Spirits PDX airport kiosk located across from gate D1,
and at the House Spirits Distillery tasting room.
The label, originally inspired by Andrew Volstead, the United States congressman who
introduced the Act that became known as Prohibition, was first introduced
in 2013. Now updated to reflect the PDX carpet motif on Mr. Volstead’s
jacket, the bottle pays homage to the Portland spirit and all that makes the
city unique.
“With construction of our new distillery now underway in the Central
Eastside Industrial District, we’ve spent a lot of time thinking about our
Portland roots,” said Christian Krogstad, Founder of House Spirits Distillery.
“Showcasing our city pride with a makeover for Volstead seemed a fitting
way to celebrate our home town.”
The limited edition PDX carpet Volstead Vodka will feature the same
outstanding distillate found in the original label that is naturally gluten-free
and filtered for 96 hours through charred coconut husks. Both versions will
retail for $19.95, offering great vodka from Portland’s craft distillery.
