The Halifax Sexual Health Centre (HSHC) is a non-profit organization committed to promoting sexual and reproductive health within an environment that respects and supports individual choice. The Opportunity The Halifax Sexual Health Centre is currently seeking an Executive Director. The position is full time (35 hours), Monday-Friday; hours are scheduled by the Executive Director according to clinic need, and worked during regular clinic opening hours. From time-to-time you will be required to attend events and meetings outside of regular clinic hours. The position of Executive Director encompasses a variety of responsibilities including, but not limited to the following: Board & Committee Works with the Board of Directors to develop annual budgets and strategic plan Maintains a position on the Board as an ex-officio member Maintains a seat on all relevant board-level committees Ensures board/committee decisions are enacted at operational level HR & Clinic Responsibilities Provides direction and leadership to all staff through performance evaluations, coaching and feedback, training, face-to-face meetings, and electronic communication Ensures the organization meets the expectations of the board, clients, and funders Manages day-to-day HR functions (e.g. work absences, conflict resolution, reporting and documentation, hiring, and disciplinary procedures). Collaborates with the Medical Director to manage scheduling, clinic efficiencies, and policy development Revenue & Fund Development Develops and manages annual funding calendar Submits grant proposals and renewals Identifies funding opportunities in line with strategic priorities Manages existing fundraising initiatives and identifies, plans, and implements new fundraising initiatives Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure maximum revenues through MSI billing, clinic sales, staffing, and service hours Finance Ensures appropriate financial controls and procedures are in place and enforced Monitors monthly cash flow (e.g. adherence to budget) PR Represents the mission, vision, and values of the HSHC to all external parties (e.g. media, government, community partners) Stays current on knowledge of sexual and reproductive healthcare trends, developments, and information Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities HSHC aims to provide accessible and client-centered services and we pride ourselves on building an organization that celebrates freedom of choice, diversity, and open mindedness.
