Gokhale Education Society’s H. P. T. Arts and R. Y. K. Science College, Nashik (Maharashtra) Organizes National Seminar (UGC sponsored) on Language Skills and Career Opportunities in Sanskrit and Marathi (on 21st and 22nd August 2015) Objectives: This seminar aimed to focus on the: Various career opportunities in Sanskrit as well as Marathi languages. Develop language skills according to career options. Skills which will be helpful to students to select their career in fields such as Lexicography, Language and Technology, Anchoring and Performing Arts, Translations, Competitive Examinations and Mass Media. Conversation and interactions with expert scholars in respective areas of professional knowledge. Teachers, who are mediator to transformer of the knowledge, and students, who are going to apply these skills in their future, are our main interest. Topics of Papers:In these topics, we have made three divisions. Some of them are for Teachers. Some of them are only for students to present their papers and some topics are common for both, Teachers and Students. These divisions are as follows:- Topics for Teachers i) Language Games - an effective method of teaching. (भािषक खेळ - अ यापनाचे भावी तं ) (You can present a paper on your experiences or experiments of teaching language through various games like puzzles, completion of stories through pictures or any game, created by you or used by you, while teaching. In a simple way, we can describe this topic as teaching a subject through various games and develop interest as well as language skills among students. (वािचक-अिभनय: - अ यापन तं ) (For this topic, Participants may prepare guidelines form books like, Vācanasamskāra by Pore Satish, Abhinava-vācana by Kahalekar, B. and Vācana - eka camatkāra by Vasekar, K.) iii) Select five pages from a story or science fiction and translate them in your mother tongue, and analyze them. (एका लिलत िकवा व ान वषयक ंथातील पाच पृ ांचा वभाषेत अनुवाद) iv) Textual analysis of prose or prosody (15 - 20 lines, in case of prosody), written in the 19th century. (१९ ा शतकातील कोण याही प अथवा ग v) Peculiar features / qualities of Scribe. (लेख नकाची गुणवै श )े [ग ा या १५ ओळीचा मजकू र] यांची पाठ च क सा) [In this topic, we expect papers on features and qualities of scribes, who notates from authors, leaders, speakers, authorities. These people need special skills like continuous alertness, speedy writing and clear understanding of content and language etc. while taking notations.] vi) Necessary (professional) skills in a field of publication ( काशनातील [ ावसा यक] कौश य) vii) Changing face of mass media and language skills. ( सारमा यमांचे बदलते व प आ ण भा षककौश ये) viii) Vācanopacāra (वाचनोपचार) (In this topic, we expect papers in context of reading use as a remedy or therapy. Though, reading or writing cannot provide independent remedies like, Allopath or Ayurveda, they are supportive in cases of depression or mental disorders. Participants may write their experiences related to this topic or experiments, if they have carried out such, in a form of research paper. (मी द दशक झालो तर.....) v) Prepare a user guide for a thing / an object (एखा ा व तूची मागदशकपु तका तयार करा) Topics for Teachers / Students i) Critical appreciation of any literature genera. (एका कलाकृ तीची आ वादक समी ा) ii) Analysis of an advertisement. (एका जािहरातीचे च क सक परी ण) iii) Report writing of a project conducted by you. (तु ही के ले या एका क पाचे अहवाललेखन) iv) Critical analysis of headlines in newspapers. (वृ प ीय मथ यांची च क सा) Please note that these topics as well as references given in some of the cases are for guidelines. Participants may present their papers on other topics, which are related to language skills or career options in concerned languages. Call for Papers:- Participants can present their papers in Sanskrit, Marathi, Hindi and English languages. Papers are invited related to the topics, which are mentioned above. Participants will get 12 min of time to read their papers and 3 min are allotted for discussions on papers. Papers, submitted for the seminar should have been neither published anywhere nor kept under consideration for publication. Papers will be published in the seminar proceedings. Papers should be submitted in two versions (soft and hard copy).
