Applicants must be computer literate. 52-39 05/05/2015 Calaveras County is an Equal Opportunity Employer MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Provide training to target populations (youth, seniors, behavioral health clients, county agencies, other organizations) on the risk signs of suicide and resources for prevention Reach out and engage target populations for training and education Utilize skills in working with others from diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural groups Organize education and training events and coordinate with other community events Service as a department representative to program activities and meetings Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with internal staff, county agencies, and other external resources Assist with administrative and clerical tasks as assigned Participate in production and/or distribution of marketing materials Provide tracking of activities and other reporting as necessary Follow up on physical, electronic, and voicemail communications Knowledge Of: Basic mental health issues; familiarity with community resources and social service agencies, including both private and other public agencies; awareness of social and economic problems that may call for the use of county services. Skill and Ability To: Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage tasks as assigned; communicate orally and in writing on a variety of issues; proficiently use a computer and Microsoft Office software; develop and maintain harmonious relationships with co-workers, public officials, community groups, other agencies, and the general public. LICENSE AND CERTIFICATES Possession of a valid California Driver’s License. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Any combination of education and experience which would provide the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Previous experience as a consumer or family member of mental health or related public health services or experience/connection with suicide loss is preferred.
