The objective of this six hour pre-conference session to provide the new
practitioner with a baseline of information that will help them meet the
expectations of their organization. The program will be aimed at providing the
new HR professional with the breadth of information that is required to be
effective and an understanding of how to develop the depth that will be expected
in their new role. It will not be an exam prep session but rather a session aimed
at motivating and educating the participants on what is expected and how to be a HR professional.
In addition for those individuals who wear many hats within their small organization it will give
them a primer on how to maximize their effectiveness and minimize their frustration with their HR
duties.
Objectives of this session:
1. Touch on the very complex role HR plays in today’s organizations.
2. Give participants practical ways of coping with HR issues as they happen in every
organization without fear or panic.
3. De-mystify practice and theory of HR and how we can effectively deal with all types and
levels of employees in a positive manner.

Monica Wofford, CSP
Conflict among the team is tough. Conflict, between you and that one employee
who just thinks vastly differently than you, can be beyond frustrating. More than
dealing with a difficult person, this session walks you through the conflict
resolution techniques and puts the value back in brainstorming. Learn how to still
make their opinion count and leave them feeling like they can contribute to your
efforts through acceptance, curiosity, communication, and tolerance of those who
seem to challenge your every move. Part of our Contagious Leadership™ series on how to become
a better leader, this session will focus on how to resolve conflict, prevent it from erupting, and still
get the result you need without letting resentment breed. If you have team members you want to
meet “out back” and give a “piece of your mind”, but would rather save the time and use the gems
that spring forth from their oh so different mind, this session was designed with YOU in mind. In
Conflict: When Their Opinion is VASTLY Different and Why it Matters™ you’ll learn valuable
steps for processing and preventing conflict, but also why a little disagreement is powerfully
creative. Their opinion, and yours matters, and when you can make the most of both, your results
will improve and you’ll stop searching for a position on another team to which you wish that
employee would move!
Objectives of this session:
1. Learn how values-based communication can strengthen strategic relationships with key
individuals in an organization.
2. Learn how to effectively convey an organization’s core values, vision, mission, and ethical
behaviors with values-based communication methods
3. Learn how to effectively reinforce an organization’s core values and behavioral
expectations through values-based supervision and coaching.
Monica Wofford began her speaking career 25 years ago giving her first keynote speech at age of
18 to more than 8,000 fellow students. She has been a leader and manager for more than 20 years
and has professionally trained others to be better leaders since 1996. Her Orlando based training
firm, Contagious Companies, was founded on the premise that leadership is not something you are

to lead better one lesson at a time.
The author of the highly acclaimed Contagious Leadership, and Make Difficult People Disappear,
along with numerous other books and learning tools, Monica has been called “The best trainer ever
seen!” and is frequently described as the “best speaker of the conference!”. When not on stage
herself, Wofford’s lengthy client list, including Microsoft, SeaWorld, Estee Lauder, and the FAA,
request her repeatedly for her behavior changing, entertaining, results producing and completely
customized programs and processes for leadership improvement. Monica’s proven strategies for
effective leadership guide leaders to develop employees who complain less, produce more and stay
longer. However, where her presentations start is with how you lead you and the voices in your
head. Winner of numerous accolades and honors, Director on the National Speaker’s Association
Board of Directors, and one of 215 women in the world to hold the Certified Speaking Professional
designation, Monica Wofford engages, informs, entertains, educates and transforms leaders.

Aircraft that travel faster than the speed of sound are said to be flying beyond
Mach, or supersonic. Organizations that are insightful before they communicate
to their employees are said to be deploying MOC (“Managing Organizational
Change”). They too can be supersonic in that they get ahead of their sound – they
strategically plan their messaging beforehand to optimally effect change. This
session will introduce Values Science, and its Nobel Prize nomination
credentials, and show attendees how people may be inspired to consider things they otherwise
would be unwilling to consider.
Objectives of this session:
1. Learn how values-based communication can strengthen strategic relationships with key
individuals in an organization
2. Learn how to effectively convey an organization’s core values, vision, mission, and ethical
behaviors with values-based communication methods
3. Learn how to effectively reinforce an organization’s core values and behavioral
expectations through values-based supervision and coaching
Don Everett is the founder and CEO of Workforce Interactive. After earning a degree in computer
sciences from the University of Florida, he enjoyed a 20+ year career in the technology sector
before becoming a certified specialist in the area of Values Science, the field of study established
by Nobel nominee Dr. Robert Hartman. He has performed over 70 occupational studies in which
workplace metrics were reconciled with corresponding employee thinking values. Don is routinely
requested as a featured speaker, and his entertaining presentations engage thousands of HR
professionals annually.

Mark Cook
One part think tank, two parts innovation lab, The Great Work Experience is a
workshop where work actually gets done. Participants arrive with an important
project in mind or some aspect of their work to improve. Then they learn and
apply difference-making skills revealed in the largest-ever study of awardwinning work. With a room full of bright people, they ideate, innovate, and move
their own projects forward in new and unexpected ways. The difference-making
skills that are taught foster collaboration and provide a common language that helps every project
participants touch turn out great.
What Participants Receive:
* Individual Project Innovation
Participants learn an approach for doing great work and then begin to apply those skills in real
time. Each participant gains instant value, right in the workshop. However, the impact of the five
skills gleaned from a close examination of over 10,000 award-winning projects, will continue to
make a difference long after the workshop is over.
* New York Times Bestseller: Great Work: How to Make a Difference People Love
Our highly acclaimed book, based on the same global study of award-winning work, contains
real life stories and examples that reinforce and drive home the principles learned in the Great
Work Experience.
* Participant Guidebook
Our proprietary workbook is where participants first begin to transform their projects. It’s filled
with inspiration, examples, and exercises that keep the learning and innovation coming beyond
the Great Work Experience.
With more than 1,100 participants to date, Mark Cook has facilitated the Great Work Experience
at companies such as Home Depot, Safeway, Sasser, Autoliv, Northbay Healthcare, and Norton
Healthcare. Each time, changing the way individuals and teams solve problems and deliver great
work. Called a “proven business builder,” by Stephen R. Covey, Mark has worked at Franklin
