28th Annual Dog-N-Jog
In 2014 we were able to:
 Treat 19,106 pets in low-income households with our veterinarian care
 Perform 3,473 low-cost spay/neuter surgeries
 Serve hundreds and hundreds of shelter animals through Gabriel’s Fund
 Over 600 volunteers worked tirelessly at the shelter, satellite & special events and other events totaling
more than 10,000 hours!
 We are a no-kill shelter and find homes for 97% of our pets.
 HSGKC and KCK Animal Control have built a partnership to save the lives of the pets in the KCK city
shelter. This partnership has significantly decreased the KCK city shelter’s euthanasia rate since 2009.
 We provide adoptions, education programs, spay/neutering and preventive vet care for animals.
 We are the oldest no-kill animal shelter in the greater KC community, serving homeless animals
since 1912.
 We receive no funding from the city, state or federal government or any national humane society, including
the Humane Society of the United States. Our no-kill shelter is kept open only through donations from local
animal lovers like you.
