Introduction
Northwood is a pleasant outer suburb of London at the north end of the London Borough of
Hillingdon on the Metropolitan line with easy access to London, Watford, the M25, M40, M1.
Holy Trinity Northwood is a large Church of England parish with an ER of 356 with an
average Sunday attendance of some 50+ children and young people. Holy Trinity’s tradition
is ‘middle of the road’ within the Anglican Church, valuing the ministry of all, and being
inclusive in its welcome. Ministry with children and young people is key to the life of Holy
Trinity Northwood. The Youth and Children’s Ministry Assistant will play a significant part in
this ministry in co-operation with the Vicar, Curate, other members of the Ministry Team and
a range of volunteers; building on the successes of past years and inspiring new ideas.
This will involve nurturing those who are already part of the life of Holy Trinity Northwood,
drawing in those on the fringes of the church community, and reaching out to those who are
at present not part of our church community.
Job description
Ministry with children and young people at Holy Trinity ranges from ministry with pre-school
children, through primary school age children, which we are privileged to work in cooperation with Holy Trinity School, to work with secondary school aged young people, and
students returning from University. We hold an Annual Holiday Club which is focus for
mission each summer. Many people are involved in our ministry with children and young
people, including a proportion of the full time Vicar’s and Curate’s time. We are seeking
someone to join us on a part time basis who is a team player and who will focus their
commitment to the following key times:
Sunday mornings. Our principal Sunday act of worship is at 10am on Sundays. We offer a
variety of worship for children, young people and their families – different styles on different
Sundays of the month: Family Service, Give Way Cafe, Encounter Communion and more
traditional age divided groups. You will play a key part in developing and delivering this.
Sunday evenings. Evening worship and fellowship on Sunday evenings for young people in
school years 5 – 7, and 8+. There is opportunity for growth and development here.
Weekday lunchtime Club in Holy Trinity School. Currently this is on Weds lunchtimes and is
a faith based discussion and action group for year 5 children. The day and year group are
negotiable as this will be developed by you.

In addition to these times of leading and delivering, preparation and meetings time is
required.
This will total 10 hours per week during school term time. Additional hours may be
offered at major Christian festivals, our proposed Parish Mission from Pentecost to Trinity
Sunday 2016, our annual Holiday Club in July, and as other potential aspects of mission
and ministry are identified for you to develop.
