Please complete the application below. To protect both participants and volunteers,
activities that include one-on-one interaction between volunteers and program
participants may require fingerprinting or background checks. Volunteers will be
contacted regarding the fulfillment of these requirements after submitting an application.

Support for Seniors
Senior Visiting: Visit seniors in their home for informal socializing.
 Background check required
Senior Escorting: Assist and escort seniors in visits to medical and other
appointments.
 Background check required
Senior Meal service: Help prepare/serve midday meals at the Senior Center
Lead a special class or workshop: Share your passion and expertise by offering a
class or workshop in the arts, exercise, or by leading a discussion group.
Support for Children
Homework help/tutoring: Assist elementary school students in our after-school
program with homework or subject area challenges.

 Hudson Guild Early Childhood Education (ECE) orientation/training
 Fingerprinting
 Subject area expertise
 Commitment of once weekly schedule for a minimum of three months
Reading or other assistance in Early Childhood classrooms: Work with Pre-K staff to
provide supplemental reading and other assistance for 3 and 4-year olds.

Lead a specialty activity, such as music or storytelling

Support for the Arts
In the galleries: Assist with setup for art openings or other special events.
Script assistance: Type out scripts, enter changes and edits as new performances are
being created
Production assistance: Build and paint sets, sew costumes, hang and run lights, help
produce programs, serve as an usher
Support for the Mental Health Clinic
Clerical Assistance: Filing, photocopying and routine follow up calls

Other
Gardening/landscape: Assist in planting and maintaining one of several Hudson Guild
gardens.
Ongoing weekly assistance
Seasonal opportunities for planting/pruning.
Marketing/outreach:
Assist in distributing flyers, staffing tables for outreach or community events, etc.
Provide graphic design support
Translate written materials (primarily Spanish, Chinese)
Holiday Opportunities
Thanksgiving mid-day dinner preparation and service
Christmas mid-day dinner preparation and service
Gift wrapping toys for distribution to youth participants
