PAYMENT POLICY
In order for us to offer the lowest cremation price in Humboldt County, and contain our costs to the families we serve, payment for goods and services is expected at the time of arrangements. All charges must be paid prior to cremation taking place. For your convenience we accept cash, check, credit card (Visa, Master Card, Discover or American Express.) Prior to drafting any contract for goods and services, the responsible party or the decedent’s survivor who is handling the funeral arrangements is entitled to receive a copy of any preneed agreement in the possession of the funeral establishment that has been signed and paid for, in full or in part, by or on behalf of the decedent.

This is our simplest offering and is designed for those who “just want to be cremated” without any service or ceremony.

Note: Our Direct Cremation Package does not include cash advance items such as newspaper charges for obituary notices, county fee to issue death certificate and permit, sales tax, and cemetery costs.
HIGHER STANDARDS: Our family philosophy is to set standards that exceed the State requirements and those of other cremation providers. We have a 5 step Peace‐Of‐Mind Cremation Process for a positive means of identification of your loved one.
OUR CREMATORY AND OUR CARE: Our family ownership includes Ocean View Crematory, for the use of the families we serve. Once your loved one is in our care, they remain in the sanctity of our secure facility until the urn is returned to the family or delivered to the service location. Please note: It may be necessary to use a third party cremation provider when the Ocean View Crematory is not operating due to repairs or the cremation does not meet the operational parameters of the equipment.
Itemized Pricing
The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.
Basic Professional Services of Funeral Director and Staff $ 400
This is the basic charge to each family we serve for our professional expertise in assisting them. It includes, but is not limited to, a proportionate share of the taxes, licenses, utilities and business expenses necessary to serve the public in a professional manner. Also included in this charge is the consultation with the family, clerical and administrative services, preparation and filing of necessary permits, consultation with the cemetery, or crematory. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations and immediate burials)
Transportation From place of death into our care (within Humboldt County)

ABOUT OUR DIRECT CREMATION PACKAGE: Our package includes: basic services of licensed professionals and staff, transfer of remains within Humboldt County, use of refrigeration, cremation container and crematory fee. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The container we provide is a sturdy corrugated cardboard container which is already included in our direct cremation charge. If the customer provides their own container, subtract $15 from the package price.
