However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. BASIC PROFESSIONAL SERVICES OF STAFF & OVERHEAD: $ 1585 Our fee for basic services of funeral and staff includes, but is not limited to:           Staff to respond to initial request for service Arrangement conference with family or responsible party Arrangement of funeral or disposition details Secretarial and administrative preparation & filing of necessary authorizations and permits Recording vital statistics; ordering & filing of death certificates Notification to Social Security Preparation and placement of obituary notices & obit photograph (includes basic editing of photo) Staff assistance prior to, during and following the arrangement conference, including coordinating with providing other portions of the service, (mausoleum, cemetery, crematory, and/or others) Temporary care of Decedent (first 24 hours) Assist with Veterans Benefits Also included in this charge are overhead expenses relative to our facilities such as sheltering of remains, professional licensing, legal and accounting fees, insurance, building and utility expenses, parking lot and grounds, maintenance, taxes, equipment, furnishings, inventory costs, recordkeeping, and secretarial and administrative expenses. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.) If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering).
