Bangkok Sister City Youth Program 2015
Overview
1. Theme: “Utmost Bangkok”
2.
Participants: representatives from Bangkok Sister and Friendly Cities
2.1 Youth representatives: 3 persons from each city
- A university student, aged between 18 and 24.
- Friendly, positive thinking and healthy
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Thai communication skills are preferable.
- Able to communicate and work effectively into teamwork.
- Interested in or studying one or more of the following subjects
a. Thai culture or other subjects relating to Thailand and Bangkok
b. Thailand’s Royal Projects
c. Urban development
d. International and cultural exchanges
e. Youth participation, education
- Capable of attending all scheduled activities
2.2 City official: 1 person from each city
- In charge of youth representatives
- Working in the organization of youth, culture, international cooperation,
education or other related units
2.3 Thai youths
3. Period: 18-25 June 2015 (7 nights and 8 days)
4. Cost Sharing
BMA will cover local expenses: all meals, accommodation, transportation and
admission fees for program-related events.
* BMA will not provide personally spending money

Objectives
1. To bring together young people from international cities and provide opportunity for
them to share experience on diverse aspects and cultural activities.
2. To provide opportunity for youths from various cities to experience Bangkok’s
policies and implementation on sustainable urban management through lectures and
field trips. Their perspectives and viewpoints reflected from these experiences will be
taken into account in improving the BMA’s woeks and services.
3. To foster mutual understanding and cooperation with sister cities through social
events and cultural programs.

Major Activities
1. Orientation and introduction to Bangkok City
2. Social activities and study visits
3. Thai culture prformance
4. Study visits
4.1 Students are divided into 7 groups including Thai students. Each of them is
required to attend all activities as follow;
- Metropolitan knowledge: what they have learned in Bangkok.
- The Royal Initiative Project which concerns professional promotion
- Bangkok Sightseeing for group presentation
5. Culture Night
5.1 All participants are required to be in their national dresses or appropriate
clothes.
5.2 Each city should provide a variety of their national desserts and toys
(portable size) to introduce to international friends.
6. Others:
(1) Welcome Reception
(2) Farewell Ceremony and Courtesy Call on the Governor of Bangkok.
- All participants are required to be in formal attire.
