DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Tampa Airport - Westshore

Greetings Legion Brothers, Nobles and Ladies,
I am honored to serve as your International Commander for 2014 - 2015, and it is my extreme pleasure to
invite you to the 84th Annual Convention of the International Association Legions Of Honor in Tampa, Florida.
Tampa is located on the beautiful Florida gulf coast and is the home for the Headquarters of Shriners International
and the Shriners Hospitals for Children - Tampa. The convention will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton
Tampa Airport - Westshore. This is a wonderful hotel with first class accommodations and amenities for your
pleasure and enjoyment. The dates for the convention are 22 - 26 April, 2015, and I sincerely hope you can attend.
The DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton Tampa Airport - Westshore is located just five minutes from Tampa
International Airport and located close to the Bay area's finest entertainment, shopping and dining. The hotel
features complimentary 24 hour airport shuttle service, local shuttle transportation, covered parking, and WiFi in all
rooms. In addition to a wonderful on-site restaurant, the hotel also features the Players Sports Pub just off the hotel
lobby. It is also located near two major shopping areas which feature numerous shops, stores, and restaurants. All
Convention events will be held at the hotel. The room rate is $99.00 per night and the hotel has agreed to extend
this rate both before and after the dates of our convention. Please call the hotel directly at 1-813-879-4800 to make
your reservations and be sure to ask for the IALOH rate. Please note that the cutoff date for reservations at the
IALOH rate is 23 March 2015. If you're driving, please see the hotel's website for excellent directions.
Plans are currently underway for our annual Golf Tournament to be held at the beautiful Rocky Point Golf
Course, an 18 hole, par 71 course located just a short drive from our hotel. Please watch the IALOH website for
additional information and registration forms. We are also working on setting up a tour of our Shriners Hospitals for
Children - Tampa. Even if you've previously managed to tour one of our other hospitals, the Tampa hospital gives
us an excellent opportunity to remind ourselves and appreciate the important work we as Shriners do for our
children. Again, more information and registration forms to follow soon on our website.
For our welcome party on Thursday night, I invite all me mateys to become "Pirates of the Caribbean"
when we hoist up the mainsail and set course for fun and adventure. It's all hands on deck and all buccaneers,
scallywags, lassies, wenches, and even the land lubbers are encourage to don your best pirate attire and come
prepared to pillage and plunder the night away. The rum and the grog will flow and the music will play as we
celebrate the days of sailing the Spanish Main for pirate booty. Yo ho, Yo ho, a pirate's life for me!
Of course we will still be having our business meetings, the Necrology Service, our Ladies' and Men's
luncheons, and all of our other usual activities. Be sure to check out our Tiki Bar in the hospitality room. The
important thing is come prepared to have some fun and enjoy yourselves. If you need any information or assistance,
