Parent’s Day
On Sunday, March 8, 2015, ICA held its annual spring
parents day. ICA welcomed over 250 parents, grand parents,
relatives and several dogs.
Parents were entertained with student performances by
Cindy Lin ‘15, Natalie Chang ‘16, and Justin Ko ‘18. The ICA
Strings, Flute Club, French Singers and the Academy Singers
also performed.
Parents visited with teachers and also were invited to visit
the International Day house displays.
Outstanding Speech Team Performances
ICA’s Speech and Debate Team traveled to Tainan to
compete in the IBST Annual Speech and Debate competition.
Every student attending earned recognition.
In middle school duet acting:
Cindy Wu and Wendy Wu– 1st Place
In upper school duet acting:
Chih-Hao Wang ‘16 and Sandy Lin ‘16– 1st place
In upper school duet acting:
Mira Tenzin ‘17 and Yvonne Hsing ‘17– 3rd place
In Dramatic Interpretation: Cindy Lin ‘15– 1st place
In Editorial: Michael Chou ‘16– 2nd place
In Creative Story Telling: Shunem Wu ‘15– 3rd place
In Extemporaneous Speaking: Barron Chiu ‘16– 3rd place
Overall, outstanding performances by ICA students.
Ryusuke Takes 1st Place
Ryusuke Kobayashi ‘16 won the AST cross country
competition. Ryusuke also took 2 first place finishes in
the Men’s 1500 meter run and 3000 meter run at the
Morrison Academy International meet on March 28,
2015.

Marimba Places 2nd
ICA’s Advanced Marimba finished 2nd in the
National Competition held at National Yunlin
University of Science and Technology.
Badminton Takes 3rd Place
The Varsity Badminton Team traveled on
March 12 to Beijing to participate in the ACAMIS
International Badminton Tournament competing
against 24 school and 235 players. ICA placed 3rd.
MUN to Harvard United Nations
The Model United Nations Team participated
in Harvard University Model United Nations in
Beijing.
Gilder Lehrman Institute Scholar
Mr. Hickel, History teacher at ICA has been
chosen a Gilder Lehrman Institute Scholar.
Mr. Hickel will attend Gettysburg University
this summer to study the Civil War through
American Culture and Historic Landscapes. The
course will be taught by noted Civil War historian,
Peter S. Carmichael.
Up Coming Events
ICA will closed for its annual spring break on Friday, April 3, 2015 at 1pm. Boarding
students should plan to return on Sunday, April 12 by 6 pm for dinner. Classes will resume
on Monday, April 13 at 8 am.
