This, in turn, is expected to promote more interactions between the participants. Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory Defence Research and Development Organization Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India Hyderabad, India www.icssp6.in About the Conference “International Conference on Solidification Science and Processing (ICSSP)” is a triennial event, which was first commenced at Bangalore in 2001. Subsequently, it was held at Bangalore in 2004, Jaipur in 2006, Chennai in 2009 and Bhubaneswar in 2012. Scope of the Conference The primary objective of this conference is to bring together all technologists, scientists, professors, research scholars and students, and promote mutual interaction to review new challenges in the field of solidification science and processing. Such an interaction is expected to improve synergy between diverse research groups based on complimentary interests (e.g. fundamentals, modelling, processing, characterization etc.). The format of the conference will be to promote brainstorming, so that critical issues pertaining to individual research activities can be addressed and ideas can be exchanged through extensive discussions. The conference consists of invited oral presentations by eminent personalities of international acclaim followed by contributory posters by other researchers. The conference is designed in such a way that there will be only one session at a time to ensure an intense interaction among all the participants.
