Methods of Determination for Pesticide Residues and
Introduction to ISO 17025
October 19-28th 2015
University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA
Course Description
The International Food Safety Training Laboratory (IFSTL) is hosting an 8day training course focused on methods of pesticide residue analysis from
October 19-28th, 2015.
What You Will Cover
- Regulations in place in the United States regarding pesticide residues
in fresh fruits and produce
- The FDA compliance program
- Theoretical and hands-on practice of FDA fit-for-purpose
- Method development for the techniques of gas chromatography, liquid
chromatography and mass spectrometry (including tandem mass
spectrometry).
- Requirements for accreditation to ISO 17025:2005
How You Will Benefit
- Perform sample preparation using validated QuEChERS method
- Develop hands-on practice of pesticide detection using gas chromatography (GC), liquid chromatography (LC),
and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) using validated methods
- Understand the concepts of action levels, compliance, and the role of the FDA in the control of imported foods
- Analyze and appraise data to meet FDA requirements
- Integrate compliance methods with regulation.
