Michael Cain
B. Com. (Hons), FCA
Michael Cain provides expert advisory services through his independent consulting
practice specialising in GAAP, GAAS, litigation support, risk management, quality
assurance reviews, and technical training. He has over 34 years’ experience as a
Chartered Accountant and is a registered company auditor, and was previously senior
audit partner with Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC) and National Accounting and Audit
Technical Director for Nexia Australia and New Zealand. Michael is a member of the ICAA
Quality Assurance Review Team and provides quality assurance assistance to the ANAO
and other State Auditor Generals. He has assisted a number of auditors with their ASIC
inspections.
David Sauer
B. Com., FCA
David Sauer specialises in providing independent advice and training to accounting firms
and corporates. His services include professional development, opinions on application of
standards, and quality assurance as well as external financial audit. He is a registered
company and SMSF auditor, and is well known through 26 years of presentations on
financial reporting and auditing for accounting bodies and training organisations.
Before establishing his own practice he was an audit manager with Moore Stephens. He
is the author of various technical guides and a regular contributor to professional journals.
David is a member of the Companies Auditors and Liquidators Disciplinary Board.
