School safety is the responsibility of everyone—staff, students,
parents, and the community. An audit, if used effectively, can
provide a snapshot of the school’s safety and identify areas
needing improvement. This proactive process can help ensure
WHY
that students achieve their learning potential within a safe and
secure environment. The recent deaths, injuries, rapes and abuses of
children in schools have underscored the need for better school child
safety standards, closer monitoring of the safety of children, scrupulous
screening of school staff, stronger enforcement of safety standards, active
participation of parents in the safety of their children, and increased use
of training and technology to improve school safety.
Participants will:
 Understand the various regulatory and statutory compliances
to Safety norms

Understand the ‘what’ and ‘how’ of School Safety Audit.
WHAT
 Understand various frameworks used to assess School Safety
 Be able to assess and evaluate risk levels, and enhance safety/security in
schools.
 Have awareness on what and how of Safety Audits in School
 Be able to use tools and strategies to adhere to clear guidelines on
identification, investigation, reporting and action
