Grand Knight’s Report
Warren Nietling
Brother Knights,
Preparations have begun for next year of the council. I would like to thank all our
brother Knights and especially the officers for all their hard work and contributions to our
many council, church, and community activities over the past year. It has been a very
successful year for our council and everyone that has been active in the activities needs to be
congratulated.
We held the election of our officers at the last meeting for the next year that starts in
July. Thank you to all the officers that retained their positions again this year for the council,
with the only changes being Trustees. The new incoming trustee for this coming year will
be Larry Giersch. Thank you to all officers. Hopefully we can have another great
year together.
Keeping in mind that the newsletter is written early, I am hoping that there have been
ads in the news showing that area Knights Councils (Ellis, Victoria, St. Joseph, St. Nicholas,
Schoenchen, the Catholic Campus Center, and St. Mary’s Knights) are hosting an
appreciation picnic for all 1st responders in the Ellis County area. The picnic will be in the
East Frontier Park on May 30th. The exact times weren’t determined as I wrote this
newsletter but the park is reserved from 10 AM to 4 PM. This is a great way to show them
appreciation for serving our communities. Please mark your calendars and plan to
attend to help make this picnic on May 30th a great success. More details should be
available at our next meeting on May 14th. If you are able to help in anyway, please contact
Warren Nietling, Rocky Feltis, or the Grand Knight of any of the other councils. Chuck
Hutchison,Grand Knight of St. Nicholas, is heading the project for the area. Please consider
helping in this council cooperative event to show other councils how involved our council
can be.
As always, if you know a Catholic gentleman that would like to join the Knights of
Columbus, please contact Ken Collins, Shaun Linenberger or myself. We will let them know
when the next degree will be or we can get them through the first degree anytime that works
for their schedules. A new shorter form 100 (enrollment form) is now available. The new
form can be used now and the old form can be used until June 30th. Contact Ken Collins if
you need this form.

Call Ken Collins if you will not be able to work bingo at 785-623-1158. Remember bingo is
where most of our funding comes from. Thanks to all who have worked.
Time to ask yourself. Has my life changed? Do I now have time to give to my council? Our bingo
worker list is getting thin. So take a look to see if you can give of your time to help your brother
knights. Contact your Grand Knight Warren Nietling at 785-656-3929. You may also contact Ken
Collins at 785-623-1158. Don’t want to work bingo, ok there are other ways you can help. Just
volunteer your services..
