CABINET
Made of Sycamore wood, this unique cabinet offers room to
store the bottles at ideal temperature thanks to the built-in
refridgerator. Temperature can affect significantly the aroma
and flavors of the wine, that is why French artist Ludovic
Avenel worked with Eurocave to create this exquisite piece.
All Mouton Rothschild’s labels artists names from 1924 are
engraved on the top and front doors of the cabinet. This
unique piece is an elegant accessory that will add value and
grandeur to the wine collection.
Ludovic Avenel was born in 1984 and learnt his art
at L’Ecole Boulle, in Paris. He is now one of the most
distinguished cabinet-maker of his time and runs his own
brand in the faubourg Saint Antoine in Paris. His work
combines traditional craftsmanship to high precision skills
required by new technologies. Ludovic Avenel and his fellow
cabinetmakers are looking for quality details and a technical,
modern finish. This technique enables the material to last
and the furniture to remain artistic and stylish. To ensure
the authenticity of his pieces, they are stamped, numbered
and signed.
He was recognized “Talent d’Exception” by the Bettencourt
Schueller Foundation in 2007. For more information about

DISCOVER THE WINE
The Château Mouton Rothschild vineyard is planted on very
deep gravelly soil with the varieties typical of the region:
Cabernet Sauvignon (80%), Merlot (16%), Cabernet Franc
(3%) and Petit Verdot (1%) with wines averaging 44 years of
age. Château Mouton Rothschild is always aged in new French
oak barrels for an average of 19 to 22 months.
Cabernet Sauvignon always predominates: it gives Mouton
its rich tannins, its wealth of aroma and flavour and its ageing
capacity, while Merlot, an inseparable companion, brings
suppleness, roundness and exceptional length.
Mouton Rothschild is the most flamboyant style of wine of
all the First Growths. With Asian spices, opulent textures, an
exotic personality and the ability to age and evolve for decades,
it is not only one of the finest Bordeaux wines, but it is also one
of the world’s great wines.

THE BOTTLE 1924
In 1924, Baron Philippe de Rothschild asks French artist Jean
Carlu to design the label but the initiative, ahead of its time, is
not repeated.
After the Second World War, that exception became the rule,
and from 1946 on, a contemporary artist was commissioned
every year to create an original work to illustrate the label. The
relationship between the artists and the owners of Mouton has
always been based on friendship and trust. But also on mutual
independence. Every artist is at liberty, following his own
inspiration, to interpret the themes of the vine, the pleasure of
drinking or the symbol of the Ram.
This bottle is a rare piece and a symbol of the Château Mouton
Rothschild.

B OT TLES VERTICAL 1945-2011
The Château Mouton Rothschild 75cl vertical consists of 1 bottle of each
vintage from 1945 to 2011. For the vintages 1993 and 1978, the labels have
two different designs, the collection therefore includes two bottles for each
vintage in all formats.
Classified a Second Growth in the 1855 Official Bordeaux Classification, the
property’s motto was “Premier ne puis, second ne daigne, Mouton suis”, which
was later changed to “Premier je suis, Second je fus, Mouton ne change” after
the 1973 elevation to First Growth status.

MAGNUM VERTICAL 1968-2010
This is a stunning Magnum vertical spanning 42 Château Mouton Rothschild
vintages from 1968 to 2010, including some outstanding years such as 1982
and 1986. It also combines the rare “non-naked lady” label for the vintage
1993 as well as the two designs from 1978.

This vertical of 33 double magnum combines four of the number “8” bottles,
with two labels designed in 1978 by Jean-Paul Riopelle, the 1988 by Keith
Haring, the 1998 by Rufino Tamayo, and the 2008 by Xu Lei.

THE NEBUCHADNEZZ AR 2000
The Château only produces 8 nebuchadnezzars every year and this vintage
2000 is a major “cru”.
This is an archetypal First Growth Pauillac, with a cassis signature on the finish.
The Château Mouton Rothschild large format bottles are not easy to find and
therefore add significant value to the collection.
