Draft Agenda INNO INDIGO Platform for Funders 2

Draft Agenda
INNO INDIGO Platform for Funders
2nd Meeting
Helsinki, 9-10 June 2015
OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES OF THE MEETING
13 funding agencies from Europe and India participated in the first INNO INDIGO Platform for funders
meeting that took place in Berlin in September 2014.
The overarching aim of the Platform for Funders meetings is to bring together funding organisations
from Europe and India to discuss future multilateral joint calls as well as other issues related to EuropeIndia collaboration. The Platform also provides its members with opportunities for networking and
sharing experience with their European and Indian counterparts.
The second Platform for Funders meeting will build upon the achievements made since the meeting in
September 2014 and will aim to increase the outreach to countries/regions not yet involved in the
Platform and to include new elements and topics for discussion. In particular, in this second edition, a
strong focus will be put on innovation related issues.
The 2nd Platform for Funders Meeting is organized in 3 sessions:
1. Session 1 – Update on EU-India collaboration on 9 June in the morning will provide updated
information on the state of the Indo-European collaboration framework including discussions on
opportunities for future developments
2. The aim of Session 2 – Innovation will focus on two different key aspects:
o
Which type of innovation for Europe-India collaboration? How can Europe-India
collaboration foster research, innovation and business cooperation to find solutions to
growing societal and global challenges?
o
How to link between basic research, applied research and business participation in
INNO INDIGO calls to foster the application of the funded projects’ results?
3. Session 3 in the afternoon will aim at presenting and discussing with interested funding
agencies the INNO INDIGO Partnership Program’s third multilateral call for proposals
(IPP3). The overall strategy for implementing the call and the thematic areas will be at the
center of the discussions.
WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE?
The members of the Platform are national Indian and European Funding Organisations and/or
Ministries or Regions with the ability to commit funds to calls for proposals. On the one hand, it is the
aim to answer to the requests of the funders already participating in the INNO INDIGO consortium,
most of who already have experiences from former New INDIGO calls. On the other hand, the aim is to
attract new funders that do not have experiences in multilateral calls with India or even do not have
bilateral programs with India. Travel and accommodation costs for the event will be borne by the INNO
INDIGO project.
