Background:
The Japanese government is expected to have a 5-10 year strategic plan regarding renewable energy
sources for which (self-financed) participation in H2020 programs is relevant. Norway is involved in the
H2020 programs enhanced through the EERA joint program on wind energy, and has a long
experience from FP7 and other programs and have many participating research institutes.
Objectives:
The research communities and industries in wind energy are still small in Japan. The objective is to
promote participation of Japanese industries to Horizon 2020 and in particular offshore wind and grid
related work program with the goal of a higher involvement in the future.
EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation is co-organizing this session
