Logan Regional Hospital’s mission
is to help keep our community healthy
through education and prevention programs.
We offer education and training for
healthcare professionals, the community,
employers, and families.
All of our classes are held at Logan Regional
Diabetes Education. Our diabetes education
program is recognized by the American Diabetes
Association. This means all of our professional staff
meets the national standards in providing excellent,
accurate and current education to diabetes patients.
They are trained and certified to help you with your
diabetes management.

Registration and cancellation
Intermountain Healthcare Employees: Register online
via intermountain.net and click on My Learning.
Employees’ cost is covered by your department if the
course is required for your job. A no-show fee and
cancelation within 24 hours fee will be applied through
payroll deduction and manager will be notified if an
employee misses a class they registered for.

Medical Nutritional Counseling.
Our dietitians provide individual education regarding
heart disease, high cholesterol, cancer, eating disorders,
pregnancy, failure to thrive and other nutrition-related
health issues.
Diabetes support group. This free diabetes
support group meets monthly where various topics related
to diabetes are presented and followed by a question/
answer period. Anyone is welcome to attend.
WEIGH TO HEALTH WEIGHT LOSS. This
program is for adults seeking to improve health through
lifestyle changes. The program addresses diet, activity, and
behavior changes to encourage weight loss. Participants
with Select Health insurance may be eligible for
reimbursement.

HEALTH AND FITNESS
RELATED CLASSES
We offer programs for children of all ages. Special
arrangements and discounts available for interested

SPORTS PERFORMANCE Training. We
assess your strengths and weaknesses and create a training
program that is tailored specifically for you. Please call
435.716.2890 for more information and pricing.
Babysitting. This class, for children ages
9 – 14, emphasizes the babysitter’s responsibility
to provide safe and fun child care. Through hands
on practice, video presentation, and discussion,
participants learn about infant care, safety, first aid,
and fun activities. A homework packet must be picked
up at the time of registration and completed before
the class begins. Price includes a light lunch, bag, and
Kid care Babysitting booklet.
Joint Replacement Surgery. This is a
free class for patients preparing for or considering joint
replacement surgery. Participants will receive important
information regarding what will happen before, during,
and after surgery. Call 435.716.5310 to register.
Senior SUMMER Education Series. This
is a free and informative series of presentations given by
one of our medical staff physicians or other healthcare
professionals covering a variety of senior healthcare topics.

Healthy Capable Kids. This class helps
children ages 8 – 13 to establish a healthy lifestyle
while teaching them to provide self-care when they
are at home alone. Topics include: What to do in an
emergency, simple first aid, stranger danger, internet
safety, the benefits of exercise and the importance of
eating right. This class also includes some exercising
and options for healthy snacking.
Capable Kids. This class helps prepare children
ages 7-13 for self-care when they are at home alone.
Topics include: What to do in an emergency situation;
simple first aid techniques; stranger danger and
internet safety.

health screening packages designed to meet your
company’s needs. Health screenings are available at
your worksite or at Logan Regional Hospital. For more

Physicals and Drug Screenings.
Intermountain WorkMed provides employee physicals
to meet the health needs of Cache Valley employers. For

Cardiac Rehab. This program helps patients

their family and how to properly handle the new baby. At least

Emergency Preparedness and Healthcare Classes At Logan REgional Hospital

We offer classes for healthcare professionals and members of the community who desire to prepare for emergencies or need certification to manage injury or illness. Special arrangements and
discounts are available for groups of 8 or more. For online courses, participants must pre-register and pay online at www.loganregional.org/classes to receive an online access codes. Participants
must bring a copy of the online certificate to the hands-on lab or they will not be allowed in the class. NO REFUNDS will be given once the access code is emailed to participants. Call

*acls certification
This is an advanced course to prepare the student to
handle an adult cardio/pulmonary arrest. Must have
current HCP BLS card and packet completed prior to
attending. The ACLS exam includes several questions
that require identification of EKG rhythms. Rhythm
recognition is not taught in the ACLS curriculum;
therefore, we strongly recommend the EKG: Adult Basic
Rhythm class be taken prior to ACLS.
*HEALTHCARE PROVIDER (BLS) CPR
Certification and Recertification
(online)
This self-paced certification course uses interactive lessons
and videos to teach those who work in a healthcare setting.
Course includes AED and two-man CPR. This course
begins with an online portion followed by a hands-on skills
lab with a certified AHA instructor. All participants must
bring a copy of their online certificate to the hands-on lab.
*acls Recertification
This course is for any current ACLS provider. Participants
must complete packet prior to course. The course for
physicians includes the option of renewing HCP BLS
certification.
*HEARTSAVER FIRST AID/CPR/AED
CERTIFICATION And recertification
(online)
This self-paced course uses interactive lessons and videos
to teach you how to manage illness and injuries in the
first few minutes until professional help arrives for adults,
children, and infants. This class is for those who seek to
be prepared to help in the event of an emergency. Training
pertains to workplace, Scouting, community or childcare
situations. This course begins with an online portion
followed by a hands-on skills pass off with a certified AHA
instructor. All participants must bring a copy of their
online certificate to the hands-on lab.
EKG ADULT BASIC RHYTHM
Reviews Ventricular Tachycardia Ventricular Fibrillation,
Brady & Tachy rhythms, Asystole and PEA. This course
will be helpful for anyone preparing for an ACLS class or
who works with heart monitored patients.
EKG: COlor-Coded
This class is for nursing staff, paramedics, EMTs, and other
professionals working with monitored patients. Learn to
quickly look for sign of ischemia, injury, and infraction on
an EKG and to locate the affected area of the heart.
*Healthcare Provider (BLS) & Heart
Saver First AID/CPR/AED Instructor
Certification
This course prepares American Heart Association (AHA)
Instructors to teach AHA courses such as Health Care
Provider (BLS), Heartsaver First Aid & CPR AED. There
are prerequisites and requirements prior to taking this

*HEARTSAVER CPR/AED (online)
This self-paced course uses interactive lessons and videos
to teach you basic CPR skills and the use of the AED.
This course begins with an online portion followed by a
hands-on skills pass off with a certified AHA instructor. All

to the hands-on lab.
Infant Safety/CPR
Join our expert for current instruction on infant CPR and
car seat safety. This seminar is open to the public and does

*Healthcare Provider (BLS) &
Heartsaver first aid/cpr/aed
instructor recertification
This course recertifies BLS instructors. Instructors
who are aligned with our training center must provide
documentation showing they have taught a minimum of
four classes within two years. Must show current instructor
card and complete the renewal checklist prior to class. Call

*Pediatric Advanced Life
Support (PALS)
This is an advanced course designed to teach the student
how to recognize and treat infants and children at risk
for cardiopulmonary arrest. Must have current HCP BLS
Card.
*Pediatric Advanced Life
Support (PALS) Recertification
This course is for current PALS providers. You must
complete pretest prior to course. The recertification course
for physicians includes the option of renewing BLS.
* The American Heart Association (AHA) strongly promotes
knowledge of and proficiency in CPR. These courses are not sponsored
by the AHA. Fees charged do not represent income to the AHA.

These blood drives are held at Logan Regional Hospital
classrooms 1-4. Walk-ins are welcome.
Speakers bureau
Logan Regional Hospital physicians and professionals are
available on a limited basis to speak to local community
groups and civic organizations on selected topics free
of charge. A minimum of 30 days advance notice and a
minimum of 20 participants are required. To request a
