It is a centre for the creation and educational of Aerial Arts in Ireland. We are a unique addition to the cultural fabric of Limerick and Ireland, and an environment for consumers and businesses to learn more about themselves. The Irish Aerial Creation Centre will be the only purpose-fit space for aerial circus in Ireland. It will have suitable height, rigging, and heat, and it will allow world-class and emerging aerial artists to create, teach and learn. It will raise the profile of aerial circus in Ireland and internationally and provide a home for Fidget Feet Aerial Dance Company, world-class aerialists, enthusiasts, hobbyists and pure beginners alike. What is Aerial? Aerial Dance and Aerial Circus is an art form made world famous by Cirque du Soleil. It is a highly skilled discipline that involves performing on apparatus such as trapeze, hoop, fabric and rope at heights between 6metres to 40metres in the air. It is a performing discipline that forms part of the cultural sector which includes theatre, dance and circus. Purpose of role The Development & Communications Manager is a critical role within the organisation reporting to the Chair and the Board. This role will have responsibility for devising, developing and implementing a comprehensive programme, operations and communications strategy for the broad range of the IACC’s work. The role will also be responsible for maximising business opportunities for the company’s commercial work and for developing sponsorship partnerships for the IACC. Main Responsibilities Manage the day to day running of the IACC. Promote and Develop the IACC within the arts performance sector at both national and international level. Develop & Market the IACC programme of events in association with the Creative Director. Identify funding opportunities and develop funding partnerships for the IACC in association with the Creative Director & Financial Controller. Liaise with funders, sponsors, educational institutions, partner organisations, artists, tutors and students. Report to the IACC’s Creative Director and the Board of Directors. [email protected] / +353 87 988 7530 Communications Development To take overall responsibility for the company’s communications activity including: - - The development, implementation, monitoring and review of the Marketing and Communications Development Strategy which supports the company’s strategic plans Introducing key marketing policies and processes in order to optimise audience engagement with IACC Ensuring a leading digital presence for the company, with responsibility for the information and content on digital platforms and social media and ensuring an integrated approach with other marketing activity Attending regular meetings and contributing to the development and implementation of strategies, policies, procedures and budgets Provide reports, project plans, budgets and other papers as required for the Board, Director and other stakeholders Keeping up to date on current arts marketing practice to ensure IACC remains a leader in its field; with active membership of relevant arts marketing organisations and networks Sales & Marketing Campaigns - Develop and manage creative marketing initiatives and additional promotions in support of IACC’s broad range of activities through communicating with current and prospective audiences and clients - Work closely with the company Directors to develop and deliver a dynamic identity and vision for the IACC. - Responsibility for IACC marketing literature, production and distribution including copywriting, artistic and agency liaison, printers and designers - Management of all press activity and pro-active PR campaigns to maximise media coverage through editorial, listings and advertising - Overall responsibility for IACC website, its content and use of e-marketing strategies to support campaigns - Evaluation and monitoring of all campaigns in print and on line, as well as box office and sales reports, to inform future campaign initiatives Organisational & Commercial Management Delivering an integrated commercial strategy for the organisation to drive income and attract new business based on the company’s strategic plans. Taking responsibility for: - - Day to Day management of IACC operations including responsibility for the upkeep of the space, scheduling staff, ensuring access to the space when required, developing and overseeing bookings and income. Budget development and management across IACC activities in association with the Financial Controller. Reporting to the Chair and the Board of directors. Identifying, developing and managing entrepreneurial opportunities for the company Helping to build partnerships, which can fulfil the aims of IACC and developing and nurturing a range of partners who can bring funding, connections and expertise to the company Developing national and international markets and partners for the company In consultation with the Directors, identifying appropriate sponsors and negotiating effective sponsorship partnerships for the company Delivering agreed sponsorship targets for the company Managing partner/sponsor relationships and delivering sponsor activation agreements Developing promotional materials for the commercial activity of the company Burlington Business & Leisure Park, Gillogue, Co. Strongly self-motivated and able to work in small teams. 2Yrs+ experience in management, communications, administration and/or business development. Good communication and fundraising skills. Excellent administration, organisation and ICT skills. Flexibility to travel when required. Limerick Based. Desirable A third level qualification. Have had responsibility for developing, driving and implementing communication campaigns and strategic commercial plans. High degree of familiarity with social media platforms. Passion for Circus Arts and Youth & Community development. Terms & Conditions of Employment Commences: May 2015 Hours: Flexible based on a minimum of 3 days per week. Remuneration: Commensurate with experience. Contract: The position is for a one year contract and includes a 3 month probationary period. After the initial 12 months there will be the possibility of extension.
