【Increasing World Population】
World’s population has been growing rapidly: 3billion in 1960, 4 billion in 1974, 5 billion in 1987, 6
billion in 1999, and more than 7 billion on October 2011. The United Nations announced that by 2050,
it will reach more than 9.5 billion, and 86% of the population will be in Asia, Africa, and Middle East.

【Issues The World Will Face in The Future】
As the world’s population grows, economy in the region will expand, which will result in higher
energy consumption. Ultimately, it will lead to higher output of CO2, causing global warming,
desertification, and various other environmental changes. The world will also face food and water
supply shortage triggered by the above mentioned changes.
