ABOUT ROBOTICS
ITM Universe campus at Vadodara is situated
on the bank of Vishwamitri River amidst greens
orchards of Mangoes & Sapodillas at villagePaladi, on Halol Highway. The Campus is at 20
minutes drive from Vadodara airport and is in
pollution free natural surroundings. An industry
growth centre at Halol,19 kms from the
campus,is coming up with huge investment and
potential for jobs. ITM Universe through its UG
level will also cater to the manpower needs of
Halol industrial area.
To create an educational environment in which
students are prepared to meet the challenges of
a modern industrial sector by equipping them
with up-to-date technical knowledge, analytical
and practical skills, management competence,
creative and innovative approach to work, to
strengthen links with industrial through lasting
partnership, to provide within the institute an
environment where staff is encouraged to
maintain their intellectual curiosity and improve
their technical expertise through a continuous
staff development program, to create condition
in which the institute can march toward
achieving academic autonomy, to encourage
the intellectual physical, aesthetic and
development of students through the provision
of appropriate environment.
When it comes to robots, reality still lags science fiction. In the realm of
robotics, current trends in robotics research are symbolic of the fact
that the science fiction robot has become a reality. There is no doubt
that, in near future Robotics will become inseparable part of our life.
The stunning developments in Robotics domain in developed
countries like Germany, Japan gives inspiration no less than the
ongoing researches in India by The Indian Underwater Robotics
Society (IURS), The Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
(CAIR), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) to name a few.
Robotics, a branch of engineering that involves the conception,
design, manufacture, and operation of robots. This field overlaps with
electronics, computer science, artificial intelligence, mechatronics,
nanotechnology and bioengineering. The use of Robots in modern
industries is becoming more prevalent, as an integral part of
automating the plant operations for improved efficiency, quality
control and cost reduction with benefits of flexibility and potential for
expansion.
THE OBJECTIVES OF THE SEMINAR ARE:
ŸTo provide platform to scientists, researchers, faculties, and
industries to discuss latest know-how of robotics and allied fields.
ŸTo generate awareness of practices in the emerging field of robotics.
ŸRobotics has penetrated all the fields of engineering through
automation. Hence, the seminar aims to augment these activities.
ŸPanel discussion on robotics may gratify the appetite of participants.
DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
The department of mechanical engineering is continuously
striving to achieve excellence in education, academic and industry
oriented research. We aim to provide our students a perfect blend of
intellectual and practical experiences, which helps them to serve
our society and address variety of needs. At the end of the program,
students are prepared for entry-level work as a mechanical
engineer as well as post graduate study in mechanical engineering
or in other discipline. To support this, the department has qualified
and experienced faculty members with industrial and research
experience & well developed infrastructure facilities and state of the
art laboratories.
