Senior Lecturer in Biblical Studies at the Newman Institute in Uppsala, Sweden The Newman Institute is looking for a full-time Senior Lecturer in Biblical Studies. The position includes 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% administration. Applicants should have a PhD degree with a specialization in New Testament exegesis, and have documented experience teaching in this area. Additionally, teaching experience in the field of Old Testament studies is beneficial. Applicants should have documented familiarity with Catholic and/or Orthodox traditions. Additional competence in one or more of the Newman Institute’s core subject areas (theology, philosophy, and cultural and religious studies) is also advantageous, as well as expertise in early Christianity, beyond the New Testament. Applicants’ qualifications in both academic research and teaching will be considered. High priority will be given to the personal qualities enabling the applicant to fit in with the Institute’s teaching staff. Applicants must be capable of teaching in Swedish from the outset or have acquired that competence within two years of employment.
