1 7th IWICA YOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP - GENERAL REGULATIONS th 7 IWICA YOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP April 4th 2015 GENERAL REGULATIONS 1. Invitation IWICA Chess School has the honor to invite you to the 7th IWICA Youth Chess Championship which will take place in NIST International School in Bangkok on April 4th. 2. Right to participate All players who are born in 1999 or younger have the right to participate. Additionally, we are also organizing a FIDE Rated OPEN tournament. 3. Playing venue The Playing venue will be at NIST International School located on Sukhumvit Soi 15 in Bangkok. 4. Age groups Under 06 (As on 01/01/2015) Under 08 (As on 01/01/2015) Under 10 (As on 01/01/2015) Under 12 (As on 01/01/2015) Under 16 (As on 01/01/2015) Open FIDE Rated category 2 7th IWICA YOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP - GENERAL REGULATIONS 5. Pairing System and time control. The tournament will be played by Swiss Pairing System. Time control is 20 minutes + 10 seconds for the age groups and 15 minutes + 10 seconds for the Open Tournament. 6. Schedule 8.00 – 8.30 Confirmation of Registration 9.00-9.50 10.00-10.50 11.00-11.50 12.00-13.00 13.00-13.50 14.00-14.50 15.00-15.50 16.00-16.30 Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Lunch Break Round 4 Round 5 Round 6 Award Ceremony Note 1: The pairings for round 1 will be done and published one day in advance. Registration deadline is March 25th. Please do register on time. Note 2: Open tournament will have 5 rounds only. 7. Prizes Trophies by categories: In each category there will be a Trophy for the winner, 1st and 2nd runner up and best girl. For the OPEN Rated category there are also cash prizes. Medals: for all players who will score at least 50% score. Certificates: for all participants. 8. Tie Breaks The following FIDE tie-breaks will be applied for the age groups: Direct Encounter. Greater number of wins. Cumulative Score. Buchholz. The following FIDE tie-breaks will be applied for the Open tournament: Buchholz. Cumulative Score. Direct Encounter. Registration The Fee for Registration (deadline: March 25th) is 400 THB for the age-groups and 600 THB for the OPEN FIDE Rated tournament. The registration for NIST students is 300 THB. Late registrations might be accepted with 50% higher fee. However, the organizer keeps the right to deny late registration for any reasons after March 25th 2015. 10. Arbiters and Appeals Committee Chief Arbiter is Mrs. Binita Shah, FIDE Arbiter. The names of other arbiters will be published additionally.
