How to...
Pick the Perfect
Window Treatment
Today!
Window treatments play an
important role in the overall
ambiance of a room and can
quickly become a focal point. They
are truly an accessory that
should be carefully considered
before making a decision.
The tips below should help you answer the question,
"How can I pick the perfect window treatment?"
Tip 1: Gather Ideas
Page through catalogues or go online to gather ideas for the type of
window treatments you like and that will work in your home/office.

Southwest Suburbs
(Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills,
Orland Park, Channahon, Joliet)

Tip 2: Consider Insulation Factors
Window treatments can serve as an insulation layer on your windows.
If insulation is of importance, look for thicker linen and cotton blends.
If insulation is not of importance, lighter fabrics or lace may be a
good option.
Tip 3: Decide on Color
Solid colors and patterns work well for window treatments. For ease in
deciding, narrow down your choices to just two or three color
combinations. Also, keep in mind that your window treatment colors
should either match the carpet, or one main color theme in your room.
Tip 4: Consider Lining
Lining will protect your window treatments for years to come. This extra
layer also provides privacy. If you absolutely must have something that
doesn't have a lining, consider adding a second curtain rod that can hold
a lighter set of sheets.
Tip 5: Decide on Manual or Motorized
Manual window treatments are a great place to start as they will
effectively cover an area. Utilizing window treatments with an automated
device makes things even greater! Motorized window treatments allow
you to control your window treatments with the push of a button,
eliminates the danger of dangling cords, and avoids climbing on or over
furniture to access a cord/wand.
Tip 6: Consult a Professional
Most window treatment companies offer FREE consultations. Contact a
professional, show them your ideas and have them provide you with an
estimate to measure, order and install your window treatments. (If under a
time constraint, be sure to ask how long the product will take to arrive!)
Tip 7: Hire a Professional Installer
Most people aren't especially skilled at installing window treatments. You'll
save a lot of time and money by hiring a professional installer. The right

decorator/installer can also help with final details that you may have
missed (e.g. curtain hooks, accessories, etc.).

Considering, purchasing, and installing new window treatments can
be an easy process. Following the tips above should help you make
the right choice in finding the perfect window treatment!
MWT Retrofits....
Ever thought about motorizing your current
blinds, shades or drapery treatments and/or how
motorization would make life a little easier?
Imagine...no more getting out of your chair or
bed, just push a button to raise or lower
your shades, open or close your blinds or traverse your drapery
treatments. You can even get your treatments to operate when you are
not home for energy efficiency!
Motorized Window Treatments (MWT) can help you add a little ease to
your life by motorizing your existing window treatments!
Below is just a sampling of the options available...
Retrofitting Shades with Somfy® "Standard LT30 Low Voltage"
Radio Frequency Motor.
This motor is used for small to medium sized window treatments.
It is also an excellent option when running wires to the shade or from
the shade is not an option. This motor can be battery operated, solar
powered or plugged in using a low voltage power supply. This motor can
be controlled through a remote control, wireless wall switch and/or a home
automation system.
When MWT motorizes a window treatment with this motor our prices
include: retrofitting, the motor, battery wand or plug in transformer
(solar powered is extra) & all needed components.
Retrofitting Shades with Somfy® Sonesse ST30 DC Low Voltage
Radio Frequency "Quiet Motor."
This motor is used for small to medium to large sized window treatments.
It is an excellent option when running wires to the shade or from the
shade is an option. This motor has to use a low voltage power supply
ensuring constant power without the need to ever change out batteries.
This motor can be controlled through a remote control, wireless wall
switch, low voltage wall switch and/or a home automation system.
When MWT motorizes a window treatment with this motor our prices
include: retrofitting, the motor, a plug in transformer & all needed
components.
Retrofitting Shades with Somfy® Sonesse ST40 AC 110v Radio
Frequency "Quiet Motor."
This motor is used for medium to large to extra-large sized window
treatments. It is an excellent option when AC wires can be pulled to
a window opening or there is an outlet near the shade to plug the
motor in. This motor can be controlled through a remote control,
wireless wall switch, low voltage wall switch and/or a home
automation system.
When MWT motorizes a window treatment with this motor our prices
include: retrofitting, the motor, up to a 25' power cord & all needed
components.
Based on the number of windows, type of motor and desired control,
the price to motorize a window treatment can range
