At the installs, one of Jeff's favorite moments is helping his dad do the
tieback. "There is a technique to it and clients were amazed that I knew
how to do it at such a young age! Watching a client see their windows

When he was 14, his Dad opened a store in downtown Barrington with a
showroom and workspace. Jeff's job at the store was to assemble
the
decorative wood poles and tracks that were custom cut with finials or
miters.

Dress Up Your Drapes with...
Cornice Boards
Cornice Boards are top treatments that are upholstered
on a board and are usually used with batting to give it
a dimensional look.
Valances
An alternative to cornice boards are valances.
Valances are short drapery pieces/fabric treatments
that are hung across the top of a window to conceal
structural fixtures. Valances come in many different
styles, such as swags, cascades, shirred and pleated.
Window Scarves
A window scarf is a long piece of fabric casually
draped over a pole or rod at the top of a window like
a valance. The center is gently pulled down to create
a soft curve.
Drapery Brackets & Drapery
Rods
Drapery brackets are metal pieces
attached to wall/casing to support drapery/curtain rods
and are available in a variety of styles. Drapery brackets
hold the drapery rods that may be made of metal, wood
or resin. Many drapery rods come with decorative
hardware that is meant to be seen!
Finials
A finial is a decorative ornament at the end of a
drapery rod to give a rod/pole that finishing touch.
Tiebacks & Tassels
Tiebacks are mounted to a wall and hold a curtain or
drapery that is draped to one side. They come in a
variety of colors, sizes and styles. Tassels are a
group of colored threads bound together at the top
and hung as a pendant ornament and are often used
as a tieback for a touch of style!
Fringe
also
Fringe is a decorative trim for edges of drapery
treatments that may be made of narrow braids with
attached loops, tassels, beads and more! It is sewn
onto the edges and hems of curtain panels. (It is
often used to decorate pillows, lampshades and
rug
edges!)
