Director & CEO Message:
During the last decades of war Afghanistan has been
extremely damaged in all deferent aspects of life i.e.
infrastructure, educational, agriculture, economical and
etc, to rebuild and reconstruct this war hated country
both national and international community is needed to
a solid mutual cooperation and collaboration. With
regard to the fact mentioned above, as a citizen of this
country wished to take an active part in rehabilitation
and development of our beloved country, therefore we
established an organization in 2006 by the name of
Patriotic Youth Educational, Cultural & social organization (PYECSO). By
establishing the PYECSO we tried to target the most important areas of the social life
i.e. education, infrastructure, vocational training, etc as well as the most vulnerable
and important generation of the community which are orphans, disable, street boys
and youth.
PYECSO by hiring a number of well experienced professional and qualified staff
could undertake a number of activities in different sectors and fields of life in
different parts of Afghanistan.
If we are provided with a substantial financial and technical support by the
international aid community and different donors, I am sure that we with using all our
professional and skilled manpower and full commitment to our people will be able to
provide more quality and standard services and take more active and broader part in
rebuilding our country.

Organization overview:
Patriotic Youth Educational, Cultural and Social organization, (PYECSO) is a
nongovernmental, non political and non profitable organization registered with the
Ministry of Economy. This organization was founded in 2006 under the name of
PYECSA but Later on with regard to the changes made to the main goals and
objectives of the organization and formal requirements of the Ministry of Economy
of Afghanistan for the registration purposes the name of PYECSA was changed to
PYECSO.
The main office of PYECSO is located in Kabul city and is operating in Southern,
Eastern and Western provinces of Afghanistan providing professional skills and
literacy programs through implementation of different projects funded by various
international GOV/semi /GOV and donor organizations.
This organization was founded mainly by the purpose of taking an active and
effective part in rehabilitation and reconstruction of Afghanistan. The PYECSO
believes that the future of the country mostly relates to the younger generation
especially the children of Afghanistan and building a developed, civilized and happy
Afghanistan depends on qualifications, skills and professionalism of these young
generations.
Therefore, we focus our activities on securing the present and improving and
developing the future of these generations. PYECSO is undertaking mostly education
and literacy projects for the school age children and youth as well as street children
and youth to be able to stand on their own feet through getting different vocational
training and professional skills.
In order to reduce poverty and help the poor families and children PYECSO
undertakes food, materials and stationery distribution programs and trying to give an
active & sufficient involvement to women in all sort of projects and activities.

Mission:
The mission of Patriotic Youth, Educational, Cultural and Social organization,
(PYECSO) is to educate, nurture, mobilize and empower Afghans low social and
economic status to become productive, law-abiding citizens.
The goal is to restore dignity and pride through life-enhancing experiences,
educational opportunities, art and skills development.
Whilst Operation Restoration has no illusions about wiping out illiteracy, hunger,
poverty and crime in these communities, it is our fervent belief that with the help
from God and our benefactors we can realize our vision to: “Change the community
to impact the nation and the world."
Vision:
PYECSO vision is to empower people at the grassroots level by strengthening the
sense of Self -help, Self-reliance and sense of ownership without any kind of
discrimination and distinction of gender, ethnicity or religion; and to bring a
character and spirit of unity and understanding and recognition of all communities
(including the poor, disabled, marginalized and vulnerable) as they are part of the
nations and world.
Strategy:
PYECSO' strategy is to demonstrate and advocate a model Community Based
Development approach ( Right Based approach and Participatory approach)
centralized Program concept, which could become national policy, through
adaptation of such approach by other agencies or when possible, national government
programs.

This will be done by transferring knowledge and awareness at local and national
levels. The provision of necessary, appropriate and accessible services and
development process coordinating and networking with all national, regional and
international organizations and agencies working in mobilization, rehabilitation and
development process
Goals and objectives:
The PYECSO mainly aims to take an active part in building a developed, civilized
and peaceful Afghanistan through:
1. Promoting the platform and level of education through providing education
and literacy courses to the school age children and youths.
2. Conducting professional and vocational training courses for children and
youths in different subjects and fields.
3. Encourage members of Organization in creation of invention and trades.
4. Upgrading the knowledge of the organization members in using the new
information technology.
5. To mobilize local communities to take responsibility and strengthened
ownership for their rehabilitation, livelihood and development process of their
communities
6. Providing education and awareness about environment keeping and health
care.
7. To provide curative and preventive health services to the vulnerable
communities by establishing primary health units and community awareness
through health education, in order to decrease the mortality and morbidity
rates.

8. Provisions of Primary and Secondary education for school aged girls and boys
and Vocational Training Programs for adult women, Single Mothers, Mother
and Child care for the communities so that the women also become the active
bread winners in the struggle to overcome poverty.
9. To strengthen capacities communities and community-based organizations
willing to formulate a comprehensive long term rehabilitation program, social
integration and sustainable development strategy in consultation with all
stakeholders in development sector for human resources development at grass
root level for poverty reduction
10.Providing job opportunities for youth in collaboration and cooperation with
other organizations.
11.Reducing /eliminating the ethnical, linguistic and racial differences and
distinctions.
12.Building higher education centers in collaboration and permission of the
government authorities.
13.Through advocacy and Vocational Training to enhance awareness of the
refugees and the Internally displaced and the returnees on both sides in order
to achieve an appropriate and successful repatriation of these people to their
native country or in case of IDP’s to their communities
14.Prevention of using drugs and stoppage of using intoxicants drinking’s through
launching drug awareness programs.
15.Creation of sports clubs and supplying sports materials and equipments for
children and youths.
16.Efforts in resolving the feuds and enmity among the people and eviction of
conflicts.
17.Supporting and strengthening the agriculture sector in rural areas.

18.Establishing libraries to encourage the studying culture especially in young
generation.
19.Making secure playgrounds in districts and villages for children and youth.
20.PYECSO also provide relief assistance to the victims of natural disasters.
Organizational chart:
Currently PYECSO has (25) twenty five qualified, experienced and well trained
employees in their field of employment.
The employees include from the main office in Kabul as well as the regional offices
in provinces. The main office is headed by the Director & CEO supported by the
related staff i.e. deputy country director, assistant, secretary, finance, admin, logistic
and liaison officers, supporting staff and program departments. Director & CEO is
responsible for the overall supervision of the whole organization.

Projects Implemented:
In 2007 some food materials, Stationary, Cloths were distributed in Ghazni
Province Ander, Geghato, Moqor , Qara Bagh and Ghazni City for 700 youths
and children.
Establishment of a library for children and youths in Jaji Aryoub District of Paktya.
Creating of Sports Teams in Andar, qarabagh and Jaghato districts of Ghazni
province and Paktya, Paktika, Logar, Konar, Laghman and Nangarhar Provinces
for children and youths.
Creating of short term free of fees university exam preparation courses in
Laghman and Konar provinces.
Conduction of Seminars and Workshops on avoiding of poppy cultivation and
usage in Ghazni, Konar, Noristan, Laghman, Logar and Nangarhar provinces.
Conduction of Seminars and workshops on stopping destroying the forests and
protection of wild lives and its protection in Paktya, Paktika, Khost, Noristan,
Konar and Nangarhar provinces.
Holding of Seminars and workshops on HIV AIDS in under covered areas of
PYECSO Organization.
Creating of Seminars on avoiding kidnapping of children in Ghazni and Paktya
provinces.
Implementing of awareness program through youths in mosques for encouraging
communities to send their children and female to schools in Paktya, Paktika,
Noristan, Ghazni and Logar Provinces.

Financial support means.
We are running a project in Jaji Aryoub distract Paktiya Province by the name of
Iron , Welding and vehicle Repairing training which is for duration of nine month
and Funded by DAI. The project trains the youths from 16-22 especially who are
coming back to social normal life after the DDR process of the Government.
