PBIS
LCSD #1 is working to improve the culture and climate in our elementary schools. One piece is the shift toward
PBIS practices. Jessup is working to implement all seven PBIS Key Components. This week we are providing
incentives for all students to be safe, responsible, and respectful while visiting the office and nurse’s office.
Ask your students about the tickets.
PTO NEWS
The PTO is actively searching for someone to Co-Chair the annual Jessup Carnival with Mrs. Severson. The fall
carnival will be held in October 2015. All of the Halloween themed games have been organized and a binder of
information will be available to help guide the process and provide suggested timelines. The Co-Chair would
also have the flexibility to alter the theme and/or games as they see fit. Please contact Tiffany Smith at
[email protected] or Tanr Tempel at [email protected] if you would like to volunteer.

New Business:
PTO Officer Elections: Tanr Tempel Co-President, Tiffany Smith Co-President, Angie Beveridge Co-Vice
President, Cindy Rankin Co-Vice President, Jonath Jackson Treasurer, and Jessica Hassler Secretary were
elected by unanimous vote.
It was decided that we will not have Head Room Parents next year. Instead we will have a parent volunteer
coordinator for Field Day and other events, and return to having a room parent for each class room. We are also
still looking for a Co-Chair for the Fall Carnival. Please contact the office if you are interested in either of these
positions.
School Supplies: Discussion was held related to the new district wide school supply list for the fall.
Missoula Children’s Theatre: Mrs. Severson reported that the assembly was a success, and they are looking
for parents to help set up Friday for the performance.
Parent Advisory Committee Report: See report from Michelle Ottoes. Be sure to get your children registered
on line and your address verification to the office if you have not already!
Teacher Report: Mrs. Fagan reported that the teachers appreciate the annual teacher appreciation lunch funded
by PTO and are requesting that the lunch be on the last day of school instead of Field Day so that all of the staff
can participate. There was unanimous approval for PTO to pay for up to $747.50 for the Teacher Appreciation
Lunch on the last day of school. Mrs. Fagan will coordinate the catering.
Book fair: BOGO Sscholastic Book Fair will be held June 4th 8:20-4:00 and June 5th 8-12. A big thank you to
Lora Harvick for heading the Book Fairs this year, as well as the Box Top Program. We are looking for
coordinators for both of these projects next year. Please notify the office if you are interested!
Recess SPARK Program: In October the SPARK recess program was put into effect, with some parents
voicing concerns at the Oct. PTO meeting. Several parents voiced concerns today, and requested follow-up data
on the outcome of the program. Dr. Leiseth reported today that reports of bullying are down, as well as
incidences of aggressive behavior. Please see Dr.Leiseth directly with any further concerns or questions related
to SPARK.
Funding Request: Mrs. Reynolds requested $596 for reading enrichment prizes with a unanimous approval.
Thank you to the Jackson family for donating lunch today! Next meeting 9/15 with a PTO officer meeting
planned June 3rd.
Respectfully submitted, Angie Beveridge Secretary
