March Visits: Wednesday, March 18th Judson University April Visits: Wednesday, April 1st Southern Illinois University ELECTION JUDGES th Student Election Judges are needed for the April 7 elections in McHenry County. In order to participate, you must be a junior/senior with at least a 3.0 GPA, a citizen of the U.S. and a resident of McHenry County. Students will be paid $165.00 for completing mandatory training and working the Election Day. Packets can be found on the door outside of the Social Studies Office which is across from room 209. The pageant will be held at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, Illinois on September 4-7, 2015. Contestants must be between the ages of 14 and 18 to participate. SCHOLARSHIPS Barbara Hinkle Memorial Scholarship - Mr. Hinkle has started a scholarship to honor his wife, Barbara who was a kindergarten teacher in the district from 1977 to 2003. This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior girl who is interested in being an elementary school teacher, has participated in at least 2 school activities, and has performed community service. The application is available in the Counseling Office and is due by April 1, 2015. Jacobs Athletic Boosters: Attention Senior Athletes! It’s that time of the year and the Jacobs Athletic Boosters is offering $1000 scholarships to 2 female athletes and 2 male athletes. Stop by the Guidance Office for an application. All you need to do is completely fill out the application, get one coach’s letter of recommendation and write a personal essay of how playing sports has shaped your life. Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship: This is a $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college.
