Finals Study Nights at the Harnish Main Library
Tuesday, May 26; Wednesday, May 27; Thursday, May 28 3-8:30 pm
Cram for the Exams! Our Study Rooms will be reserved for teen study groups to use all night long. Call 847-4586060 ext 143 to reserve a two-hour block of time for your group! Drop by the Meeting Room downstairs Tuesday
and Wednesday and the YA section on Thursday for snacks, soda and relaxation supplies like bubble wrap to pop
and coloring sheets.
Book Buddies Volunteers Still Needed!
It's not too late to volunteer! The Algonquin Library can still use Book Buddies volunteers. Applications are
available in the Jacobs Media Center or at the Algonquin Area Public Library and are due by Sunday, May 31.
Choose from Mondays at 11am, Tuesdays at 2pm or both. Contact Jen Jazwinski, Young Adult Librarian with any

AP BIOLOGY
Attention AP Biology students for the upcoming school Year! You need to stop and see Mr. Clark in room 212A to
pick up your summer assignment. I look forward to seeing you.
ATTENDANCE
Attn: Students – Any students, who will not be present for finals next week, must bring a note from your parents to
Mrs. Christensen in the Counseling Office. You will then get a pre-arranged absence form to take around for your
teachers to sign, at that time you will schedule with your teachers when to take your finals. Finals must be taken
before you leave. The last day to turn in your parents note will be Thursday, May 21.
BOYS BASKETBALL
All Boys Basketball Players: There will be a meeting after school today in room 158 at 3:05. ALL boys basketball
players must attend. You will receive a calendar and information about the summer. If you cannot attend, see
Coach Roberts beforehand.
BOYS SOCCER
Attention all boys soccer players, there will be a meeting Friday after school in room 215. This is a mandatory
meeting, all boys interested in playing next fall need to be at the meeting.
BOYS TENNIS
After capturing the division title, the boys tennis team finished second overall in the conference tournament. All
starters medaled in the event with Kailash Panchapakesan, Kevin Searle, Matthew Kastritis, Kendrick and Kerwin
Chong all winning individual championships. The team will compete in the Huntley sectional this Friday and
Saturday.
COLLEGE VISIT

Southern Illinois University will be here on Wednesday May 20 for an Application drive here at Jacobs High
School. Juniors who attend the meeting will be included in our free application drive. Now is the time to take
advantage of applying to your first college and get that head start on Senior year! Please stop in at the Counseling
Office to sign up for the presentation.
ENGLISH DEPARTMENT
By now you should have received the summer reading letter from your English teacher. If you haven’t, please ask
your English teacher about it, pick a letter up in the main office, or go on the Jacobs’ website. Books are available
for purchase THIS WEEK in the library. See the letter for more information and prices.

Dress with a warm jacket and come down the hill tonight as the lacrosse team opens the play-offs at 5:30 against
Batavia. If you’ve never seen a lacrosse game or just like to support your teams, now is as good a time as

interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Interested students can
