News from John Paul II Collegiate Principal's Message: Mr. Hansen Our Student-Led Conferences are Tuesday, March 31 and Wednesday, April 1. Parents along with their student are encouraged to attend one of the evenings. Both nights run from 6:00 to 9:00PM. This is an important opportunity for students to reflect on their progress and share their learning goals with their parents. I hope everyone is able to attend. Parents please be aware that your student has made their course requests for next year. If you log into PowerSchool you can check what courses they have requested. Students have until April 24 to finalize their course requests. A reminder to grade 12 students and parents that all students planning on graduating this year must be passing their required courses by May 20. I hope that everyone in the JP Community has a Blessed Easter Season. Semester Two Report Cards Semester two reports will be available for student pick-up on June 30 from 9:00 to 11:00AM. Report Cards not picked up on that day will be sent to the School Division Office for pickup during the summer months. No Report Cards will be mailed out this year. This is a 9-day trip that takes the travelers to Edinburgh, Yorkshire, Stratford, Oxford and London. There is the possibility to extend this trip to include Paris. Highlights of this trip include Edinburgh Castle, Hadrian's Wall, York Minster, Anne Hathaway's Cottage, Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Windsor, Stonehenge, Westminster Abby, St. Paul's Cathedral. Students can travel when they are in Grade 10, 11, or 12. If you are interested in joining this tour, see Mrs. Thompson for enrolment information and tour details. Sr. Boys Basketball 2014-2015: Mr. Loepkky It was another exciting season of Crusader Basketball. Building on last year's success we ended with a 10-7 record in tournaments and a 9th seeded ranking in the province. In Melfort regionals the team played a hard fought game against Humboldt that ended up in a loss with a last second miss on a three point shot. We would like to thank Tyler Wasmuth, team captain and only grade 12 player for his leadership and skill. Next year we have 8 returning grade 12's and are looking forward to another great season.
