5 01 2 , 19 h c Mar AY 4 D JPPSS TESTING TIMES 2015 PARCC PBA Testing Inside this issue: TESTING TIMES 2 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL TESTS 3 The Testing Times is a daily e-paper containing step-by-step directions and reminders for the day. The Testing Department will email it daily to principals, assistant principals, school test coordinators and test monitors. It can also be found at on the JPPSS website, in the Statewide Testing section. Please email [email protected] or call 655-2846 if you have any questions or concerns. There are no test materials due for return today! Materials will be returned Monday afternoon. Please remind the home study and nonpublic school parents that they must wait for the class to complete testing before the students can be dismissed. Have a successful testing day. REMEMBER ONE TEST UNIT PER DAY CLASSROOM REMINDERS Door windows must be uncovered. Seating for state or district test monitor must be at the front or rear of the classroom. Directional symbols must be posted on the board. Timing box must be posted on the board. TAs must announce when 10 minutes remain in the testing window. THURSDAY March 19, 2015 PARCC Math Unit 1 ONLY Grades 3—8 Unit 1 - Mathematics Grades 6-8 Math Assessment: Unit 1 has two sections: a non-calculator and a calculator section. There is a stop sign at the end of the non-calculator section with directions for the students to review if they want, because they cannot go back once they have a calculator. Then, they are to raise their hand to receive a calculator for the calculator section. There is a calculator icon on the top right of each page to inform the Test Administrators the student is working on the calculator section. Students cannot return to the non-calculator section once they have received a calculator. Both sections must be completed in the allotted testing time. Reminders for Test Administrators SIGNS SCRATCH PAPER All rooms where testing is occurring must have a “Testing— Do Not Disturb” sign on the door. CELL PHONES Scratch paper must be distributed to the students during all testing sessions. Students are allowed to write in their consumable test booklets. Mark responses with a no. 2 pencil. All cell phones belonging to students, test administrators, proctors, and hall monitors must be turned off and be placed out of sight. Collect student cell phones and make sure they are turned off. Reminders PARCC return of materials: Monday, March 23rd will be the first return of PARCC materials, between the hours of 2 pm and 5 pm at the warehouse and Meisler. This return should include all used consumable test booklets (ELA and Math), used make-up consumable test booklets, accountability-coded booklets, used home study booklets, and used nonpublic school student booklets. Refer to pages 36, 37, and 39 of the Test Coordinator's manual for packing instructions. Spanish Math booklets: Students using the Spanish Math booklets are to record their answers in the Spanish booklet. You are to use code 91 to accountability code the English preidentified booklets for these students. Students not participating (opt-out) in PARCC There is no accountability code for students who are not participating (optout) in PARCC. The preidentified test booklets for these students are to be placed with the scorable booklets.
