Director’s Cut
We have almost completed the
evaluation process with everyone. Although it
was a very detailed process, it was an enjoyable one. We were able to emphasize the
importance of safe, reliable transport and
recognize those of you who provide that service to our students. Most employees earned
scores of 2.50 or above indicating an overwhelming number of you are “Effective Proficient” and “Highly Effective.” That means that
the majority of our Transportation Department
Personnel execute their duties professionally
and consistently without fail. Please notice the
word—EARNED—scores were not given. You
received the score you earned. Each of the
Evaluator Comments emphasized your
strengths and if needed, areas of improvement. Please know that Specialists spent an
enormous amount of time researching and reporting information relative to the evaluation
process. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each for their dedication to that
process! I assure you I could not have done it without them.
Summer program applications will be posted shortly. There are changes to the
programs. Please review the information carefully and adhere to all deadlines. We will
attempt to conduct the Summer Job Fair sometime between Wednesday, May 27th and
Sunday, May 31st. This summer, attendants will be able to select routes in seniority order
in the same manner in which drivers select routes. Attendants must complete a form and
attend the selection process.
Our vision is to deliver
safe, effective, and
efficient transportation
while partnering and
collaborating with parents, principals, and
school staff. In addition, we will respond
with solutions to concerns of parents and
school personnel as
quickly as possible,
while continuing to
work toward meeting
the district’s vision, mission, and goals.
Safety First
Drivers who would like the Transportation Department to consider placing their bus on
the rental list for the 2015-2016 school year must have their rental bus inspected at
one of the inspection sites listed on page 3. A United States Department of Transportation Annual Inspection Form (D.O.T.) must be completed by the inspector. Inspection
sites will have the proper form or you may pick one up
in the Transportation Department. The Annual Inspection
Form, with receipt from designated inspection station,
and a current registration, must be submitted to the
Transportation Department by 12:00 PM Monday, July
24, 2015.

Fuel Reminders
For the week of May 18th thru May 21th, you are entitled to a 5 day fuel allotment, due to early dismissal on the 19th-21st. The last day of school is on May
21st which is a Thursday. This is also the last day to fuel your bus. Fuelman cards
will be locked on Friday, May 22, 2015 and you will not be allowed to fuel your
bus on that day.
Also, please remember to only fuel your bus at Jefferson Parish fueling stations.
Why? The tax dollars remain in our district.
Any sub drivers utilizing a fuel card and PTT phone, please return the items to
the owner. If you received a fuel card and/or phone from the Transportation
Office please return the items to the office. Thank you!
